Oh wait a second. I thought you said where I grew up. I grew up in Kansas for six years then moved to Los Angeles. That's where I get them
I live in Kansas.
- It's not. You can get them a thursday before it comes out. I have to pay retail price, too, but I don't live in New York -

Where do you get yours?

That's pretty sad if you want to pay more $ for 1 week earlier.  It's your money dude!

I'm from NYC, so there are a couple of tiny hole in the wall stores that get new releases a couple of weeks before the actual date.  The only thing is, you have to pay retail price.

Yeah, I'm a bit confused about that.  I read in so many different articles that the Weinsteins took most of the rights of most of the films they acquired with them, or Disney still has the rights to them as well.

Disney (Universal) owns the right.  Harvey Weinstein and his Miramax Films partner and younger brother, Bob dissolve their 12-year contract with the Walt Disney Co.
QT or Weinsteins

Now, when are we getting Kill Bill like QT promised???
Quentin Tarintino abandoned the project the last I heard.

As much as I liked Sin City, I'm going to wait for the special edition.  I don't want a bare bones edition!  That's why I never bought Batman and Batman Returns.  I knew they were going to re-release it as special edition eventually!  Now, when are we getting Kill Bill like QT promised???
I've been waiting ages for that one! Wish they'ed hurry up!
gonna wait

i just rented SIN CITY today, and it was absolutely AWESOME...i'll have to give in and double dip, i mean, also, there's the rumors (and chances) that the CE re-release won't include the theatrical edition, therefore i'll double dip. im a sucker for special features...i double dip all the time. TITANIC...THE GRUDGE...WIZARD OF OZ...it goes on and on.

its jsut too good to wait another 4 to 5 months to buy.

I mean come on, you only have to read the site to know that I'm a massive Star Wars fan, but I haven't got a clue how many times I've seen it. It's probably over one hundred, counting all the TV showings and VHS editions, but I doubt it's anywhere near 300. There are far too many other movies to watch and things to do in life (working for one).
That's what I'm saying to myself too. I never watched my Episode II yet, because I never seen Episode I

I bet he actually hasn't seen SW 392 times.
Phoenix Flames. No you didn't. I like Star Wars and I've seen Episode 4 maybe 30 odd times since 1977 and that's just the one film. I stopped counting at about 22 when I was 14 or 15 years old. I am now 35. Question: If you have watched the original Star Wars trilogy 392 times, which is around 114 days solid by the way, what do you do, how do you live, and how old are you? If what you say is true I have to worry about you.
The Hard Goodbye was good too. I thought That Yellow Bastatd was okay.

I just watched it. The movie... wow... It blew my mind. The action... spectacular. The cast... awesome... The movie... surprisingly the best movie ever (in front of Man on Fire). The best story, I have to admit, was The Big Fat Kill.

It was great fun, and Man On Fire was okay,
but neither films were the best movie ever(that goes to Rushmore in my opinion),
The comics are even better than the film though.
I thought The Big Fat Kill was the best story in the film, but my favorite of the comics so far is The Hard Goodbye, although I've only read That Yellow Bastard and The Hard Goodbye.

I suppose it's ok to give it to a friend.
I'm getting the UMD for my PSP. Then I'll buy the inevitable SE when it comes out.
I'll give it to a friend of mine.
rent it, rip it on to a disc then at least you've saved yourself some money.

No, don't fall into Miramax's trap, rent it if you have to. There's no way you'll need to watch it several times before it's inevitable SE release.

I hope.

I'll trade it in for the SE
this is one of my fav movies im watchin at least 100 times minimum before it comes in CE (watched the sw trilogy 392 times before Episode 3 came out)

I think i may have to spring for the barebones as well, this movie was just too good.
Just buy the barebone then trade it in for the CE. I just bought the barebones and I'm watching it tonight after I get back from the skating rink. I got the Dwight and Gale cover with mine.

I hope Jonny that you are right, that the SIN CITY SE will come out in 4 months, because I'm refusing to buy the barebone.
I don't have a problem with that at all. I'm getting the barebones in a few hours.
During an interview with IGN.com RR says that the Sin City SE that we know is coming should debut about 4 months from now, putting it in a December / January timeframe.

He also said part of the reason the studio is putting out a barebones now is due to piracy concerns. What sense does that make? Everyone will simply pirate the barebones and wait to buy the SE...lol
I'm sure that there's a 3 disc Director's Cut bound to come out.

I'm honored! Wink

But if you like that one, you'll love this. Sin City is coming to DVD on August 16th.

IT WILL BE BAREBONES ONLY!

Although it will become a special edition later on. Probably in early 2006. At least they told us first.

The Digital Bits broke the news.

ill reiterate, you are my new best friend in the whole world

Yeah it seemed a tad early to me too, but I'm just the messenger. Speaking of Sin City - Februrary 2006, Robert Rodriguez will shoot 2 sequels back to back for release in 2007. Very Happy

Story Here!

It's a pretty weird feeling when you're find yourself to be older than a lot of female sex symbols. How can she be younger than me, she's famous! I guess it's all down hill from here.

Where's Jessica??
I would think 6 months is a norm these days for a DVD after it's theatrical release

July seems too early. I'm guessing either August or September.
I think I read somewhere it was heading for a July release.

Still early, but I heard that it's going to be a 2 disc release.  The first disc. will be the  theatrical movie and the second disc will be all 3 stories separated.
It's a bit early to ask this question don't you think? This movie's not even out in Australia yet.
Sin City
I saw it twice and I loved it but i'm wondering, does anybody know a DVD Release Date yet?
