Slysoft has cracked BD+
Took a while, but it looks like Slysoft has cracked BD+ in the latest version of AnyDVD. Good news for pikeys everywhere!

Wasn't this done last year already?
Not that it matters - until the price of blanks, burners get waaaay cheaper and bandwidth gets waaaaaaaay faster and more robust, piracy is a non-issue.

Nope, they had cracked the protection on a couple of discs and it was widely misrepresented as cracking BD+. The stuff I get from Fox wouldn't play with AnyDVD enabled, but now it does. Lots of people in the Slysoft forums have reported ripping all and sundry. Hitman still doesn't work, but that could be because it uses more of the BD+ trickery. Apparently Slysoft will address it when they get hold of the disc for analysis (you'd think they could afford to buy it from the subscriptions).
They probably have bought it like they do all the other problem discs. And I don't have AnyDVD HD, but that's only because I don't have a drive on the computer. I know that people are reporting success all across the board on this one. I'm not too worried about backing up my BDs since I know they have a nice coating on them, but it could be something for me for the future. With the future of BD+ allowing it to be a continually mutating string, this should be fun to watch.
I thought we were all entitled to make 1 copy of our discs anyway
Hopefully it will lead to a purchase of AnyDVD and a certain playback software to allow screen-caps
