Spider-Man 2 Extended Edition
Very early days, but just to let people know that this has appeared on Sony's release calendar. 23/04/2007 is the date currently listed, so just in time to cash in.

Yay! I waited and waited. I finally bought a used copy of the original release for like 5 bucks at a Hollywood Video sale. This is the kind of double dip I can live with. Three years is much more realistic than three months.
you great and powerful editors and contributors that run this amazing website wouldn't happen to know if they'll put Elfman's score back in the movie. as it is now about 70% of the stuff he did got cut and you can hear all of it on the making of stuff on the DVD but not in the movie. you can even hear the orchestra recording a cue that never made it into the movie
so if you guys know anything please be sure to post and I sure hope that my bum kissing in the early paragraph does get the question answered

No.
Sony/Columbia did release a Deluxed edition of spider-man 1 but it was a tad dissapointing with them just putting out an extra disc with a few new featurettes and a sneek peak at Spider-man 2

Spider-man 2 didn't have many deleted scenes.
Back when I read about Spiderman 2.5 in 2004/05 it was said that most of the extra scenes would be CGI battles that weren't orignally filmed or intended to be in the film. Just sounds like there will be more action scenes then anything else.

When should Sony be sending out the dvd package artwork & list of special features if any? Also with it only being 4 months away until its release it looks like sites like Amazon.com & others would have already made it available for pre-order.
the fx network is going to show spidey 2 the recut longer version on tv.. january 2, 2007. you can get a sneak peek of the new cut before the dvd release.

Why is it being released on a monday when dvd's are usually released on a tuesday? According to the 2007 calendars April 23rd, 2007 falls on a monday.

Haven't you read what Chris said? The INFO came from a UK PRESS SITE!! So the news is basically Region 2, with Region 1 to follow!
Holy, I can't wait to get this, even if its only some extra minutes.
According to the Sony site it's 130 minutes. I don't know if that takes PAL speedup into consideration, so it could just be three minutes of additional footage.

Chances are that it will only be 1 disc when it comes out & then you will have missed out on all the special features that was on the original 2 disc set.
