star wars trilogy dvds
I just bought the star wars trilogy dvds (I know I'm late) and I noticed at the end of episode IV where the death star explodes, there's a blue blob that surround it. I also noticed the same blue blobs in episode V at the beginning right after the scroll ends as well as in other places in the movie. I took my first copies back and got a second one but had the same problems. Is anyone else experiencing the same problems?

DVD is a digital medium. If one copy has the faults, they all will. There a loads of niggling little things wrong with the trilogy boxed set. We can but hope they are fixed for the inevitable uber-set when ROTS comes out on DVD.
It's obvious that the restoration job done on A New Hope was botched. That blue blob and many other anamolies were due to a rushed job as demanded by Lucas from Lowry Digital. You'll also notice chroma-key boxes around the ships that werent restored yet, a blue hatch after the droids leave the escape pod and various other anomalies. The audio was butchered pretty bad too.
