Stargate season sets - Region questions
I always enjoyed watching Stargate episodes (plus the movie).
Now that I have finished some series I was watching I decided to start with Stargate. (I am not talking about SG Atlantis)

Which region do you guys recommend has the best artwork/video/audio/extras presentation ?
Which region is the cheapest?
I searched on PLAY.com and the seasons sets go up to £45 which is outreagous for a season to cost so much..
On the other hand R4 sets go for half that price...

I would like to know your opinion on this..

I recommend you buy the region 1 sets for SG-1 seasons 1 & 2 as you miss out on some extras if you go with other regions. As for the other seasons, it doesn't really matter what region/version you go with as they're pretty much the same. R2 and R4 may have some additional MINOR extras on some sets. These appear to show up on other season sets of the show on R1 though so you probably get them either way.

I highly recommend you get the R4 sets if they're half the price. Happy

R4 comes in a tin if you buy it from ezydvd and works out at about £25 a set.

Yeah. I don't get it. The tin sets are way cheaper than the standard boxed set. Weird!

It's worth mentioning though, that these tins aren't yet availible, they're all for pre-order being released next month.

Don't forget www.dvdcompare.net for comparisons.
Another thing is that since the SG1 series has finished (not including the 2 movies they are currently making) you would think that they will soon release a 10 season single box set.

Got Season 10 today! There's an insert that says the following:

Coming Soon!

- The complete Stargate SG-1 collector's set -
All 214 episodes, plus hours of never-before-released special features!

COMING TO DVD OCTOBER 2007

No surprise there i guess. Wink

Also, there's a short teaser for one of the upcoming DTV Stargate SG-1 movies; "Stargate: The Ark of Truth". (Coming to DVD in 2008)

I don't know if this is intentional or not, but there's an episode on Disc four called "Bad Guys" that doesn't have a commentary for it. That's a bit strange as all the other episodes have at least one. I wonder if it's a screw up or what...
