Super-easy Region/Macrovision Hack for jWIN JD-VD140 I bought myself this nice little DVD player for under $40.  It plays both PAL and NTSC, and it's extremely easy to hack.

1. Push button on player to open tray.
2. Using remote, punch in 2812, and the hidden menu pops up.
3. Use remote up, down, left, and right keys to adjust settings for region and macrovision.
4. When done, hit Setup on remote, close the tray, and you're done.

Region 9 is apparently the region free setting.  It seems to play RCE encoded DVDs okay, though I've only tested one so far.
