Talladega Nights
As much as I loved seeing my home state ridiculed and it's redneck sport of choice made fun of.... I didn't much like the film. I did laugh quite a bit, but that doesn't make a good flick. It felt like TN was made for the people it was making fun of.

Even though it's total c**p and Anchorman shines by comparison... I still wish I hadn't been bogged down by school when I was offered a PA job on it. Looks like the shoot would've been an absolute blast.

What did you guys think?

I liked it, not as funny as Anchorman, but the 'Fig Newton' sticker bit is an instant classic.
And I didn't think they were being patronising towards NASCAR, its fans or the majority of its drivers at all really. Only the main characters are jokes and idiots, never the 'legit' drivers.

Haven't seen the movie, but Will Farrell is about as funny as a nail through the foot. My guess is, the movie is equally as funny.

Saw it at the drive-in this weekend...yes, the drive-in...and had a good time. Pretty funny for the most part, but like Dustin said it's not the greatest movie ever made when taken as a whole and not as memorable as Anchorman.

Carrey has had some great movies...most of them non-comedy though. Man on the Moon, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Truman Show, Majestic and the instant-classic Dumb and Dumber.

You know, instead of laughing at that all I kept wondering was just how much Applebee's paid for an in-movie advertisement. Kind of threw the humor of the moment completely out for me.
