While I much liked the 2003 remake, this is a weaker film. Too much violence and gore and not enough story (although the 2003 remake didn't have much more in this dept., what it did have was pacing and style.) I think the camera guy on TCM:TB had palsy or something... poor cinematography.

It did have several fantastic moments though... a shame they couldn't have been tied together by a story rather than an endless assault of chase/torture scenes. I'd give it a 4/10. What'd you guys think?

As I understand it there isn't much of a "beinning" in this film either, is there? All you see is Tommy aka Leatherface being born in the slaughetrhouse and then a few fast glimpes of him growing up during the credits. That's it?

Read Vern's hilarious review of the film over at AICN.

Pretty much. This was a family f*cked up before any of them even left their mother's womb.

It shows more and how they are related and how old monty lost his legs and how Charlie became the sheriff and how he lost his teeth. Anyway I enjoyed this film alot. It was great and intense!
