Saw it today and thought it showed flashes of brilliance, but ultimately lacked that special 'something'. This is how I feel about most of Jack Black's work.

US is getting it on Wednesday. Hopefully it'll be good, but it looks a little too goofy.
I love The D and have been waiting for this for nearly 2 years, I'll most likely be seeing it next saturday.
I too love The D, but have had a terrible feeling of dread that this could end up the same quality as "Ernest Saves Christmas" with dirty words.
The reports I'm hearing suggest this is not the case, but that the movie is "alright" at the very least which is some comfort.

I saw it yesterday(along with Casino Royale) and really liked it. It takes about 20 minutes to get going, but once it does, it's freaking hilarious. The songs are freaking brilliant.
This was so much better than I had forseen - If you like The D, then you'll like, but if you don't, don't dismiss right away.
It is chucklesome at the least - laugh out loud for me!
