"Speed" 5 Star Collection - I was SOOOO Happy that my fave movie got a REAL Special Treatment with lots and lots of features on the making of the film, not to mention the DTS!!!
"Notting Hill" Ultimate Edition. Great packaging by Universal, as well as the Special Features, Music Videos, Excellent Picture Quality and again, this has DTS also!!

"Top Gun" Special Edition. The DVD Menu gets you pumped, and excited for a great movie, with good Special Features, but the best part is the DTS!!
So basically any of the great films we know and love that has very good to top notch Special Features, combined with a great soundtrack, especially DTS, would be the best ever editions!
I may want to add "Black Hawk Down" 3 Disc Edition. I don't have it, but I heard the picture quality and the DTS is really, really good!!! I will get it someday before it becomes discontinued!!

mine is definently texas chainsaw massacre special edition, I think it's the best dvd ever! not just the film but the extras aswell

I would agree with Jonathan Bennett on both Casablanca and King Kong---especially Kong! Kong set a new standard for special editions of classic films! I would also add The Searchers because it was the first time I had the opportunity to see it in it's correct aspect ratio, nothing special just a great movie presented well. I also enjoyed the initial releases of the Universal classic horror library (Dracula, Frankenstein, etc.) that had multiple documentary features.

If we're not talking quality of films, it's very hard to overlook the Viewaskew DVDs. The new tenth anniversary release of Clerks is fantastic, as is the SE of Dogma and J&SBSB. I was a little disappointed with the new Mallrats disc though, as too much of the old content is duplicated.
Other than that, the Hellboy director's cut set is excellent, as is TRON. All of the Star Wars discs have featured either great transfer or bonus content (or both in the case of parts II and III).

Am I the only one when the special features from older editions do not appear on the newer editions? I don't really like having a lot of separate copies of the same movie. This happened with Bull Durham having different commentaries on it.
