The Matador DVD Okay, this title is just an example, but what the heck are they thinking when they force you to watch the trailers before the movie.  The menu, chapter forward, and even fast forward are disabled.  I'm glad this was just a rental.  I liked the movie and would probably have bought it, but there is no way that I would buy a disc knowing that every time I watched it, I would be forced to watch trailers for other movies.

I wouldn't mind it in a rental Mal, except for one thing.  There is no difference (at least in the US) between the DVDs for sale and rental.  I'm surprised that you can't hack the players so that operations are never disallowed.  I am not sure why the hardware vendors even support that option.

My player let me skip them...

Uhm.  There is no barebones version of the Matador.  DDD lists both the FS and WS versions as having the same features (commentary, behind the scenes, deleted scenes, etc.)  So unless, there is some super-secret rental copies that the public doesn't know about, I doubt this was any different than what you buy anywhere else.  Also, I got it from Blockbuster and you know that many of the copies will be sold used before much longer.

What kind of players are you guys using?  I have a sony, but didn't try it on any of the other players.
