I don't have a problem with them.
but what really annoys me is when a DVD has commercials that you can't skip through.

Thats not possible seeing as how most the the FBI warning are before the menu.
The quickest way is just as the Player reads the disc, press stop so that it stops completely, then press Play >.
This usually works fastest (Great way for Simpsons Season 2)

Mark, why not take that time and make the popcorn
I always hate the HKL DVDs where you can't skip the copyright intro, then then you have the HKL logo which takes forever, and then you have Media Asia straight after which takes even longer, and you can't skip on either of them!!!
You can always fast forward usually....
for those previews, just press stop button, then menu. For the fbi, etc, on some players you can just press chapter skip and it will jump through them. It won't work on all players.
close your eyes real tight, and when you hear the movie open em real quick
Hey just a question, but do you international guys even get an FBI logo in front of your dvd movie? I'm guessing maybe Interpol instead?
I haven't actually seen many foreign DVD's.

We normally just get generic text messages describing the distribution license. However certain distributors have a tendancy to force trailers at the beginning, worse still is we sometimes get condescending messages about how piracy is linked to terrorism.
One other thing. In the UK there seems to be a disagreement with certain distributors and online rental companies, it looks like the rental companies are cutting costs and buying the much cheaper retail versions of films. So what do distributors do to sort it? They force it on the buying public with a trailer about reporting rental companies that are doing this. I say they should sort their own problems out.
In relation to FBI warning messages, you can get DVD players and multiregion modifications that automatically skip the FBI screen on American discs.

We only get a generic "don't illegaly copy" type advert down under

Here's my quick and easy instructions.
Go to scene selections and select chapter 1. You won't have to look at the FBI warning anymore!!
