THE WIZARD OF OZ: 2-Disc
I had this on my wish list to Pre-Order on Amazon.com, and just now I went to go check on the price and it said "this item is no longer available." HOWEVER, the very expensive 3-Disc edition is still available. Has Warner dropped the 2-Disc version? Or if this an Amazon glitch?

If anyone knows, info would be much appreciated! :D Thanks!

I'm still waiting to see why the 3 disc is listed at being $10 more then the press release says.

I bought the 3 disc. Outstanding job by Warner Brothers. It was like watching the movie for the first time. I didnt have the previous version though so I dunno if the extra features are tremendously upgraded. The presentation is certainly spectacular though.

I wound up buying the 2-disc (I just couldn't choke out the 35$ for the 3-disc), and its quite a good set. WB is definantley, IMO, the best DVD company.

I buy all my movies through deepdiscountdvd and beside being the cheepest around they deliver for free in the us. They have both sets available:
2 disc - $18.14
3 disc - $34.84

I'm having a hard time justifying the extra $16 for the 3 disc set right now.  I'll probably jsut save it away on my wish list and see if it gets cheaper in 6 months.

Hmmmm...I just learned that if you buy the more expensive 3 disc set in canada you get screwed. The 1933 OZ cartoon promised on the set, isn't there.

I'm gonna start ordering all my movies online. I'm sick of this. Annoyed

We get ugly bi-lingual covers, occassionally edited content and the prices are higher before tax then getting it online and paying for exchange and shipping.

I really wish one of those disks had the movie with Dark Side of the Moon perfectly synched up to it

That would be sweet.  I never got the message from the sync.  Maybe it was because I didn't start it at just the right time.

Don't you have a Walmart or a Kmart over there? We have a BigW here which is usually very cheap....

We have Wal-Mart (K-mart actually left Canada a few years ago when they went bankrupt), but they aren't much cheaper then anywhere else. It isn't a matter of finding the right retail stores, the entire DVD industry is like 30% over-priced here VS their US counterparts. They don't seem to be tied in any way to the exchange rate. Plus like I said, now the canadian wings of the studios have begun releasing just about EVERYTHING in ugly bi-lingual covers and occassionally even messing around with the content of the disc.

I'll avoid it all by ordering from a site like amazon.com

I find that due to the exchange rates and delivery costs, it is cheaper for me to buy off canadian sites...but that may change.....
