Possibly the worst audio commentary I have ever heard is Final ?Destination. The actors dont even talk about the film they just talk about theyre lives before and after it. And another one is the texas chainsaw massacre (2003) Theyre are like 25 people total on the commentary so before each person talks theres a computred generated vocie that sais who they are!
anymore ?
Worst? Dunno but I found it strange that there was this gap in the Dodgeball Comm. I think Fox cut some of it out, talking too much about films which they aint copyright to or summit.

Anchorman had a fun comm. scripted gags I though, although it just sounds like natural Ferrell ;p
I was really dissappointed in the commentary for Last House on the Left. That had a lot of potential with Craven and Cunningham.
I almost forgot Two For the Road.  The comentary comes and goes.  Its like Stanly Kramer kept falling asleep
Judging by the end result he wasn't that interested when filming it either...
I think it's Star Trek Nemesis for me, the director Stuart Baird didn't seem interested in the commentary, several long pauses and nothing substantial was said. To top it off, he just disappears at the end without any final words. How Rude! Tongue
I second the Life Aquatic..That was a terrible idea. The spliced commentaries on Ed Wood and I Heart Huckabees I remember turning off, too.

Batman and Batman Returns (Tim Burton was dull)
Spider-Man (Director and star Commentary)
T3 Rise of the Machines

Tim Burton is pretty hard to listen to for the whole duration of a movie. I have all his films on DVD and he's done a couple of commentaries. He's a bit... how should I put it (he's my favorite director)...he's a bit slow. Wink

Another director that is really hard to listen to is John Woo. I remember really trying to listen to the M:I-2 commentary, but I just couldn't stand it. I know english isn't his first language, but common'!

Same goes with Clive Barker. He has to have the most annoying voice in the world! This is a man I simply can't stand listening to. I'm a huge fan, sure, but no commentaries for me thanks.

The Best Comentary are those that explaine how/why the scene was shot by the director. How all "drama" that went on durring the time the scene was being shot.  A really think that good audio comentary should be like a mini-film school.

The commentary tracks I hate are the ones that are billed as "Commentary by x, y and z" but then you find out that they were all recorded at different times and have been edited together.  The Armageddon special edition does this and it completely breaks up the flow of the conversations.  For me, a good commentary contains plenty of banter and anecdotes but when they're edited together it all sounds really scripted.

Sexy Toad your so on the money.  Antoher friend pointed that out to me and I forgot about it.
The worst I've heard has to be the commentary track for Momentum's R2 version of Deep Star Six. I imported the disc to get a widescreen copy of the movie and the commentary track, but while the video was fine the commentary stunk on ice with lots of long pauses where you can actually hear the participants just sitting there and saying nothing. Not the greatest movie in the world I know, but at least show a bit of effort.

Just out of interest, why did you post a load of profanity, then edit it with more and finally settle with this comment?
And then, at the same time, why even post a stupid comment like that?

My worst audio commentary is my life!!!!
I think it was definiely "The Exorcist: The Version You've Never Seen" with director William Friedkin.  On the track, he provides the most monotonous narration ever, explaining what's happening on screen, only occasionally teasing the listener with dull antecdotes and insight.
for me its probably The Producers commentary by the director which is scripted, and it doesnt work, and maybe the commentary for Meet the Parents, there were like six people talking from four different places
Stanton, I second you Halloween 5 suggestion. Funny thing is the director speaks of the film as if it's cinema gold, when it's really cinema poo. He's so damn proud of what he did.
Probably the Cheaper by the Dozen Kid Commentary... the kids said "ewe" and "gross" too much.
Final Destination 3-Too Boring
One of the worsT comMentaries I've heard was the Criterion "Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou". The discussions weren't all that bad, but the quality of the recording was horrendous. They recorded it (Wes Anderson and Noah Embauch) in the café where they wrote it, WHILE IT WAS OPEN FOR BUSINESS!! Too much background noise that almost drowns out the commentary.
Worst Audio Commentary
This year I bought 2 DVD's  which I think had the worse Audio Comentary's .  "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane"-done by men who who are not connected in any ahpe or form.  "Halloween 5" the comentary goes all over the place. Now besides what I have said what dvd do you think had the worse  comentary?
