I would buy those on BD even if I didn't have a player...

Probably, but impressive noentheless, no? And anyway, Peter Jackson has actually stated that they're going to take about a year working on a Blu-Ray edition of the films, but they won't be around until about 2009. He's also stated that the BD releases will have deleted scenes and an outtake reel.
Wowser! that might actually be the release to get me into the HD world afterall.

Oho...Ah, I wouldn't know. All I've got is a DVD player.
The BD release will look a lot better than that. It hasn't been cleaned up much if those pics are anything to go by.

One of the very few Films (Film series in this case) that I would double dip to get the Hi-Def...
And pray for decent 7.1 sound!

GAD I wish Bluray would become the norm already and not an over priced luxury so I can hop on the band wagon. I remember it took me until 2003 to finally give up VHS for DVD, heh.
Thing about LotR on Blu-Ray I found.
