Tom Cruise - Wanker or Saint?
He's just gone from cool actor to complete wanker.

He's just flipped out totally, he's so convinced that he's right and that his cult faith is accurate, that his words can cause more harm than he can imagine.

It would only take one person who suffers from a mental disorder such as schizophrenia to think, 'wow Cruise is right', and not take anymore prescribed medicine, and then ends up murdering someone out of paranoia.

I'm only going to see War of the Worlds just because it's a Speilberg flick, but after that I'll just flat out refuse to see any his movies.

Yeah, I like the guy on an impersonal level. He's done some fun movies, but I think he's gone nuts.

That scientology cult or whatever he's in sorta screwed his mind. I was reading up on them outta curiosity over it (which maybe is what he wants?) and they aren't too different from that nutzo Ralien cult we got up here in Quebec that claimed it cloned a baby a year or so ago.

I think maybe I'll start a cult. I call it Jonnyology and for the first little while, only hot babes willing to sleep with me will be allowed in. After a while, movie stars and billionaires, but hey....one step at a time Very Happy

I became officially pissed off when he said there was no such thing as a chemical imbalance. There is Tom, and I'm pretty sure you have one.

It's like that with any following, there's: positive, negative and damn right weird things, whether they be related to: religion, politics, countries or whatever. Let's stay away from criticising Scientology in the interests of maintaining the peace. Wink

Ok Mal, I was just making an observation. Like I said, I hardly know anything about it.

Disclaimer - Note that my views are those of me and do not necessarily reflect those of DVDanswers. Except Gab, he's nuts too Wink lol

I know someone that was approached by a Scientology representative when he was 12 years old. Walking through the city on his own, they got him to go to their office and carry out some free IQ test. He passed and got some sort of certificate saying he was a member. When his parents found out, the place got an ear bashing down the phone.

That reminds me, at least I live in an area where there are very few Jedi Knights, there's already way too many involved in this site.

It actually happen to me and my ex-girlfriend a few years ago.  We were walking down the street in Montreal and two Scientology members approach us.  My ex-girlfriend insisted to take the free i.q. test.  The questions are mostly about yourself and your personnality. I guess they want to know what kind of person you are.  My biggest mistake was given them our home phone number.  They keep calling more often than telemarketing.

I take it that is opposed to the personal level like when he stops by the house to borrow your power tools, invites you over to catch Monday Night Football, or brings the family along for the big annual BBQ?

LOL

HE's as nuts as they come now - he almost looks like a 5 year old trying to justify his existence.

Just what part of being a celebrity with such a high profile does he not understand? Being such a person always puts your working life and private life on the front page. But when he does the shenanigans (spelling?) that he has done recently...you have to wonder...

Katie Holmes must be on pot...

As I stated somewhere else on these forums, there's a Scientology reading room on my walk home from work. They are there all hours of the day...just standing there...staring at me...I started to drive....I just plowed right through them. (Kudos to anyone who knows what I'm quoting at the end there).

lol....exactly. Sometimes John and Kelly stop by to say hello too Tongue

What I meant was I like the guys work, without really knowing the guy.

Some celebs are more famous for their personal lives then their actual movies. A creepy trend.

Well, if the rumors are to be believed (and as loony as they are, they look more credible with every act of insanity) Katie Holmes is not on pot, she's on a $5 million dollar high. As in, thats how much he's paying her.

I hope to god it's not true.

The guy is my favorite actor and for good reason too. He sometimes uses his public attention wrongly (like lately) but still, he's a saint.

don't care
I really don't care what actors do in their personal life.  I see movies to be entertained and to see good acting.  If they don't act good, I lose interest in that actor.  I understand those of you who do care what they do in their personal life, and respect that.  About WotW role, it didn't seem like a typical Tom Cruise role and I didn't care for lousy Father role in this movie.

As someone said above, who cares? I don't. If the movie is good, I don't care. "War of the Worlds" was a great movie (let's not argue about it), and "M:I-3" was good. Tom Cruise was in them...So? I'm not going to let that get in the way of my enjoyment of the films. I don't agree with his views, but whatever, to each their own. He still makes entertaining movies.
