Transformers Movie
This better not be true or else I'm not interested in a live-action movie anymore.

Seem's Michael Bay doesn't want to use any of the voices from the show. I dunno about you, but without Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime or Frank Welker as Megatron... whats the point?

Report here!

Yeah, they are the originals.

Peter Cullen and Frank Welker are still very much alive and working in the industry. Frank Welker is a voice god. Everyone knows him best as Fred from Scooby Doo. Peter Cullen does movie trailers and various other things.

lol....for someone with a descepticons logo as their sig, you should know that Wink

Peter Cullen especially, he was the essience of the whole show. It's always sucked without him and I havent watched any of the newer incarnations mostly because of it.

The original transformers were before my time. I only watched the Transformers where Optimus Prime was a gorilla and Megatron (if that was his name)was a dinosaur. But then they was some type of earth quake and every one was warped in the change. Those were great days. Did anyone else remember this show or collect the transformable action figures.

From what I have heard, they also still haven't worked out which era of the Transformers story they will base the movie on....

Stefano, you're taking about The Beasties Happy  The worst one is when Megatron was a flying shark.  That was ridiculous.  I don't know if it was Energon or Armada.

I remember that it wasn't called beasties and i remember that Megatron wasn't a shark, so it was something different. I have to check my video collection because i have a tape of the shows and it has the name on them. I'll try and find the answer soon.

Some episodes where call Beast Wars and some where call Beasties.  As far as Megatron being a shark, that's another show.

The only true transformers is the original when they were cars, planes, etc..

I think the producer of the movie confirmed that's what they'll be doing, which is why I seriously hope the report on the voices is wrong.

Amen...with Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime and Frank Welker as Megatron.

On a related note...the makers of the Star Wars fan film I.M.P.S.: The Relentless (or TROOPS 2) somehow got Peter Cullen to narrate their multi-part film.

Robotech was much better of a series than The Transformers.  I think they should do live action CGI of  the first season.

Ok, I actually liked Beast Wars in it's second and third seasons. And I just watched the first season of the original show...and it really isn't very good any more. I really should learn to just keep my memories and not try to relive them.

I have it on good authority that the new Transformers: The Movie release due in August will be the 'ultimate hardcore release of the film' (not my words). I'm hoping we'll at long last get a widescreen transfer, a decent 5.1 track, a commentary, deleted scenes and more. I'm such a big kid Happy

Figures! I hope it's cheap ($15 - $20), cause a few months ago I broke down and got that stupid version from Rhino Home Video and it set me back $35.

I go to a few places. I used to get them all online, but a few years ago the retail in my area caught up to most major US cities in terms of selection offered so I actually head out to a regular store like Best Buy or HMV now most often.

When I do buy online (usually for selection purposes) I go most often for www.lasersedge.com or amazon.com I try to avoid a Canadian site because actually living in Canada, I get penalized by having to pay tax, plus shipping so its far more expensive.

The discounted prices, plus exchange and shipping usually equal the canadian price plus tax. If not a little less. It usually depends on how the canadian dollar is going.

Most recently I helped my bro get a copy of Wrestlemania 21 which was available almost 2 months earlier in the us before here for some reason.

And yeah - I was ripped. The only store I found it in classified it as anime Annoyed

Yeah - add the tag 'Anime' and tripple the price!
