Watched this over the weekend after getting it cheap from HMV's sale... fun film and I recommend others check it out.
At least they have some....
None of us count towards the Tomatometer. They don't even have half my reviews on that thing.
I wonder when they'll begin accepting new critics for the Tomatoe-meter thing again... been down for over a year, I think.
Dunno how their system works. I only knew I was on there because it comes up pretty high in the Google rankings.

That explains some things. . . . .; however, I would guess you guys don't count toward new releases since the reviews are all of DVDs.

Actually they do, according to Rotten Tomatoes's critic guide Mark Kermode is one of their reviewers.

...or instead?
Seriously though, pretend V is a sequel and that John Hurt's character has really gone to hell.

Picked up the two-disc last week, but still haven't opened the shrinkwrap. Plan on doing so one night this week and checking it out, and maybe watch 1984 afterwards.
I know not of your UK critics. They do not count towards the Tomatometer.
Kermode seems to get things right a lot more than your usual famous critics. Am a regular listener to the Radio 1 based podcasts even if he does get annoying at times. You can tell Jonathan Ross enjoys what he does, but he's no expert at it. Still got to see V...
Finally watched it tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it, once again proving that I should always take the word of Mark Kermode over Jonathan Ross.
I thought about buying the 2-disc, but after reading this forum I am glad I didn't. I ended up buying the single disc for $12.
Holy crud, that SNL video had laughing so hard, I nearly cried. Fantastic.
Can't see the point in spending a load on the UK R2. The HK R3 has all the features at a lower price. It seems that only the R1 has the Natalie Portman/Saturday Night Live Easter egg though.
The R3 is sitting in front of me, but I've yet to watch it. The film seemed to get equal parts praise and critical mauling...

I was teasing Tony. £ukasz D, you'd be better off just buying the graphic novel, if you don't have it already. It makes a nice comparison.
Picked up both R3 Thai LE and Korean Tin
so I got 2 v for ven comic books then :'

The V mask is NOT a full-size replica, but rather a 1:2 scale miniature. It's hard to explain, but it comes with a display box that will hold up the mask and it looks great on display.
Here is an image I found on ebay:

Gabe, what I meant was kinda like what MrStayPuft said.

R2 wil have a 2 Disk witha Comic book (just like Constantine, Batman Begines)..i'll pick it for sure.
Yeah, I saw that at BB too. It was like $35 and included the 4 posters of the movie in mini and the mask. I didn't think it was worth it at all.

I bought my 2-Disk version, and have not had a chance to look at the extras... I was on the fence of picking up the single one... oh well, sometimes one does not choose well. Now what is this about a mask from Best Buy?? I am thinking I missed something here, too.

Buy it off Ebay. I'm sure it will show up there and be cheaper than buying the whole set from Best Buy.

....like a Guy Fawkes mask?

That's usually a sign that they're going to release a different set down the line. That's a shame. I did waste the money and now wish I hadn't either.
V for Vendetta SE
... really blows.
To anyone considering spending the extra dough for the two-disc SE, save it. I wish I had. The extra material on disc two doesn't even amount to an hour, and all of the featurettes are short, heavy on the film clips, and edited for the short-attention span MTV generation.
I loved the flick, though. I planned on reviewing it until I realized I'm just not a good enough writer to touch on certain films... but damn. This set disapoints. Warner Brothers ordinarily makes wonderful SE sets, but they dropped the ball here.
