i thought this movie was amazing. The theater i was in had stadium seating and surround sound. You could hear something if it was behind you and it made this movie expierence one of the best iv ever had. War of the Worlds: Special Collector's Edition is tentatively expected to street on 11/1

Don't all of them now-a-days? I don't even consider that a special feature anymore to get me there. Although, I live in a huge city so maybe im spoiled...hehehe

I've notice a lot of filmmakers wer impressed by this movie. I think that even those who didn't enjoy it have to admit that it was very well directed.
I saw this first day, and I was astonished! Dakota Fanning's best work yet (behind Man On Fire). Steven Spielberg made this movie what it is today. As Chris said, it's not a remake. It is actually a spinoff of a different story on War of the Worlds. They should make a War of the Worlds 2, being about a different family trying to survive the attack.
I really want to see the movie, but I feel I should read the book or see the 50s adaptation first. The only encounter I've had with the material is the CBS Broadcast by Orson Welles and parts of the Jeff Wayne musical.
Well I found this pretty lame....
