What did you think of Star Wars Episode III?
So what did you all think then?

Super duper.
The space ships (episode 1-3) are better looking than episode (4-6) which doesn't make sense. That means technology is getting worse in the future.
I thought it was by far the best of the prequels, the original are still better but Lucas did achieve some more depth to the Vader character and there was a lot more impact as a result.
“You’re so beautiful.”
“That’s only because I’m so in love.”
“No, it’s because I’m so in love with you.”
I rest my case

Oh, like you never said that to the misses, Chris.
and Danny, the deterioration of the ships makes perfect sense. They Empire has exhusted it's budget in the war, and Palpitine is rather unconcerned with the elegance of his fleet, so long as they scare people and keep him in power. Most of the ships we see in the OT are rebelion ships that have been built or rebuilt from scrap. There is also the artistic resoning, where the time of the republic was a time when artistic expression and intergalatic design was important. Under a toltolitarian empire art loses most of it's meaning, which is why hitler burned books and everything in Nazi germany looked the same...my God I sound like an ass...I'll stop now.

Amazing, best one out of the new trilogy
I'm assuming everyone reading this thread has ALREADY SEEN IT....but there will no doubt be a few who haven't, so...
You got the WWII analogy bang on. That's exactly why it's all like that.
Best movie I've seen this year, best of the prequels and I think it's third to "Empire" and then "Hope". The Spoiler 'Order 66' scene was brilliant, so well done.
Yoda was great Spoiler (he enters Palpatine's office, guards come, he looks at them and they bang into the wall
)
All in all, great movie, yes the dialogue is cheesy and the acting is a bit hammy, but it doesn't matter, this one has a plot that when SFX are used, they progress it(Spoiler Darth Vader's injuries ) And it's just a great movie (I know, I'm repeating myself over and over).
My only 4 complaints: Spoiler Dooku's role is too short (killed off 15 minutes in), Anakin's stupidity ("Hey, you're evil! I'm gonna tell" 15 minutes later "Don't kill him"..2 minutes later.."WHAT HAVE I DONE?!"...."I pledge allegiance to the Sith" ), Grievous' role was too short and the end scene should be Obi Wan walking into the sunrise going into hiding instead of the Aunt and Uncle looking into it holding Luke.
Well I'm done for now, great movie: 9.9999/10

Oh, and if this movie follows the release pattern of the last, the DVD should come out November 15th (don't kill me if it's wrong, it's just a guess)
Going To See It Right Now.
I saw it and it was SOOO much better than I expected. I expected Lucas to screw it up but it was really good. I thought he tried a little too hard to be funny and the dialoge during the opening scene with Ewan McGregor was pure crap. It was so cheesy, but those are my only two complaints.

I was just reading through the screenplay and there are some interesting scenes that we're cut out that will likely end up on the dvd. I actually heard that if you saw the movie projected digitally you got to see a lot of them integrated into the movie. I bet thats the cut that ends up on disc.
Spoiler The scenes include actually seeing 3P0 take padme onto the ship
yoda arriving at degobah
yoda talking with quigon
and a few more

That would be extremely interesting id that happens because that is the targeted release date for Xbox 360 as well

I didn't go see it. Instead I went to go see "Crash" which was a great movie that is sadly going to be overlooked because of movies like Star Wars Episode III. Don't get me wrong, I like Star Wars and I wanted to go see this last part but I rather wait until it hits DVD so that I can buy that ultimate box set that is bound to come out.

Well, its not a standard free text file or anything. It's an ebook. The good news is, as you can see its not that much. That's how I got it.

Or it could just be a coincidence seeing as the time right around Thanksgiving is the busiest shopping period of the year and a lot of things get released around that time.

Actually, when they have big releases in November its always on the 15th, its the anniversary of the launch of Xbox. Xbox Live opened 1 year later then Halo 2 was releases 2 after that. 11/15 is a big day to MS.

Okay...but what does anything Microsoft releases have to do with the release of Star Wars Episode III to DVD?

Beats me. The Sith DVD is gonna be cheaper, thats for sure.
XBOX 360 is said to go for $299 for the basic unit, and $360 for the one with the hard drive, remote, etc...

PS3 is also interesting
PS3 will have Samsung 512Mb XDR DRAM. It can transmit data with up to 9.6 GigaBytes per second, 12 times faster than DDR400 memory and 6 times faster than leading RDRAM (PC 800) devices

I just hope PS3 isnt the price they think it's going to be. I don't remember specifically in US money, but it translated to around $700 canadian after tax, with games running $101 each after tax.
At that price, forget it. Star Wars games would be insane for it though.

Actually Halo 2 was released November 9th not the 15th.
I saw Episode III yesterday and loved it. I think it was the second best one out of them all. Empire being the best.

I was just watching an old trailer for Return of the Jedi and I was shocked that they had a clip of Luke saying, "Is Darth Vader really my father?". I'm glad I wasn't alive then because that would've pissed me off if they gave that away. I haven't seen the original trilogy in a few years, so if there is some plot element that would make that not shocking please don't harass me.
That's an interesting point you're telling. because trailers have changes a lot over the years.
I saw the trailer at Videodetective.com

yeah but that was revealed in Empire which came out 4 years earlier. most people knew by then
