The movie on the whole was way too much on everything.
i think that the CG on Kong himself is superb...feel like a real life monkey.
What was Peter Jackson thinking.......
..........when deciding on some of the content for King Kong?

The build up and CGI for that is great, it's just when this scene get's up and running that warning signs start to illuminate!

The scene where Brontosaurus type disnosaurs rampage through a valley is so over the top and unrealistic it beggers belief. The CGI is pretty rubbish on this scene and the fact that most of the characters survive the rampage just says it all!

Moving on to the scenes following the famous log rolling where characters are thrown to the bottom of a gulley could have been quite creepy and atmospheric. But they had to go for all out gore and gross out the audience with the bugs! The scene where a character has his head smothered by a bug is totally uneccessary and unsurprisingly turned the stomach of many viewers.

The remainder of the film is crafted well and Kong himslef is a CGI wonder most of the time. The realtionship between Kong and Ann Darrow pulls this film from what may have turned out to be just another excuse to show off CGI - Mr Lucas please take note as you ruined Star Wars. Star Wars in it's time was all about being able to gel and care about what happened to the characters BACKED UP with stunning effects for the time. The new trilogy was purely about special effects BACKED UP by terrible acting and scripts!

If Peter Jackson pulled the above scenes from King Kong and concentrated on more character development, then Kong could have been more succesful at the box office. This was such a missed opportunity as many seem to agree!!
