i think a remastered special edition of peter jacksons braindead and badtaste would be really awesome, with behind the scenes footage, documentarys and commentaries
This Island Earth was one of those movies that Image licensed the rights to from Universal back in the late '90s to put out on DVD. A number of those have been re-issued by Universal in the past couple of years, such as They Live, Dracula (1979), and several others. There are still quite a few others that haven't been properly re-issued though, such as Flash Gordon, but keep watching the skies as it's hard to tell if/when Universal will decide to release it.

Yes on Sifl and Olli, no on Jack of all Trades (but yes on Brisco County Jr), and for Spaced I say "Buy a multi Region player, it's totally worth it, and due to music rights issues there is a VERY slim chance of Spaced ever seeing a R1 release."

The Adventures of Brisco Country Jr. should be saddling up sometime this summer from WHV, Gabe...I'm anxiously awaiting this one myself.

Ugh....brain freeze there. Of course, I meant The African Queen.
And if we are talking TV, why is Family Ties not out?
Also, I wish they would put out the remaining seasons of Mad About You, but that seems unlikely. They produced a "best of" after the first two seasons which seems to indicate they didn't sell very well.

Here's an embarassing admittance for a geek...I've never actually seen Brisco County Jr., and I'm so anxious for it's arrival because I want ot see it for the first time. I was in High School when it came out, and was all punk rock, anti corporate TV and s**t. I've grown out of it.

Not sure which one you are talking about, but both the 1922 Silent Film and the 1969 Kinski remake are available on DVD. You want to be careful with the 1922 version as there are several (I believe it is public domain). I would go with the Image release of it. I have it and it is pretty good.

The 1979 Herzog/Kinski Nosferatu from Anchor Bay is out-of-print at this time, but if you look around you can find the two-disc edition for a fair price and the single disc edition fairly cheap. If it's the two-disc you want, you'll probably pay a little higher than if it were still in production, but it usually doesn't fetch a prohibitively high asking price either.
There's also a good chance it will come back in to print. Anchor Bay seems almost as bad as Disney for these kind of tricks. Be aware that the 1979 is letterboxed and not anamorphic (at least according to the specs.)
Godzilla movies, the unaltered Japanese versions (at least in Region 1 they are.)
I wish someone would put out Battle Royale in Region 1 as well.

I wonder how Japan got away with a movie like Battle Royale?

I'd like to see a release of Neil Jordan's The Butcher Boy, and the documentary behind the making of Apocalypse Now, Heart of Darkness.
I'm also going to say Blade Runner, because the current DVD is s**t, and I happen to like the theatrical cut.
