Last week it was The Corpse Bride, The Legend of Zorro, Cimarron, The Champ, The Good Earth, Captain's Courageous (love getting my hands on the classics!) and the special edition of To Kill a Mockingbird (on sale at Best Buy for $9.99).  This week it was Ryan's Daughter, Hostage, Crash, Wallace and Grommit the Curse of the Were-Rabbit and Terms of Endearment (which was in a dump bin at Circuit City for $5!).  I looooove my dvd player!

Wedding Crashers, Final Destination 2, and The Adventures of Pete And Pete -  Season 2.  And captmarvel, have you read the Good Earth?  I had to read it last year and I HATED it.  I couldn't even bring myself to rent the movie.  Could you please tell me about the movie.

Well, I'm going out on Valentine's Day and picking up "Grey's Anatomy" right away. God, I love that show. I'm also gonna get the first three seasons of Degrassi, the 2-disc Fight Club, and the 2-disc Beauty and the Beast.
However, I think the last thing I bought was Wedding Crashers Uncorked.

Je Ff - Of the classic dvds I mentioned above my vote for the best of the lot would have to go to Captains Courageous.  I had never seen The Good Earth and watched it over the weekend.  While I enjoyed it, I have to admit that it was a bit depressing through much of the movie.  Not a movie for animal lovers---especially if you're partial to oxen!  This was the last movie that Irving Thalberg had greenlighted at MGM before his death and it has a dedication to him at the beginning of the film.  It was his type of material; an epic story from a big novel.  The leads were okay, but their makeup was somewhat distracting.  You could see baldcaps and spirit gum seam lines all over the place.  This film would have been better if somebody like Jack Pierce (The Universal Monsters) had done the makeups.  The only Pearl Buck books I've read are her Old and New Testament versions of the Bible.  Like I said, I enjoyed seeing the movie but I realize that it is not everybody's cup of tea.
Meanwhile, I see you picked up Final Destination 2.  I love those movies!  Unlike most contemporary horror movies they are extremely creative!  I can't wait to see the new one---in about four months when it comes out on dvd.

Thank you very much for this.  Maybe I'll rent it one day, but I really didn't like the book.  While I was reading it, I kept thinking, "What are they trying to tell me?".  I just didn't like it.
And the Final Destination movies are great.  I heard that the original was delayed for years because New Line didn't want to make it because it didn't have a traditional "killer".  Now they're on number 3.  3 should be great.  I've been trying to avoid trailers and TV spots so I wouldn't see any of the deaths, but that didn't work.  They're giving away a little too much information if you ask me.  At Target, the Scared 2 Death pack had the 2 movies, the bonus disc, and a ticket to #3 for 14.99, but they were out so I just bought #2 for 9 dollars.
