The thing you need to watch out for is the voltage that it uses to run on. Most equipment now uses a transformer that can handle world wide outlet voltages but some cant. For example, doesn't the US run 100 volts AC and Europe run between 220 to 240 Volts AC?

I was wondering if anyone out there could help me. I live currently in the United States, and I was thinking about buying a DVD recorder before moving back to Europe. However, I am getting lost in all the specifications on the models available.
Can anyone recommend a good DVD recorder which is I can use both in the States and in Europe, both as a player and as a recorder (If I understand correctly several of the models available here can record in PAL from an NTSC tv, but will not be able to record once I get back to a PAL tv). Preferably also a player which plays data files (avi, mpeg, etc)
I would greatly appreciate any suggestions!
