How long can the data(movie) last on a DVD?
I got a question about DVD in general. I want to know how long the data(the movie) on a DVD can last? I have read many different answers between 10-15, 20-30, 50-100 years It seems that know one knows for real and all has different opinions on the matter. But do anyone know what the real answer is, if you keep them save from scratches and sunlight how long do the movie last on a DVD?

Who cares? If it's anything near the 100 year mark chances are you'll be dead or will have replaced them with holodeck technology or have been destroyed in WW:XIIXX or or or

By the time you get to the age when you start worrying about your movies disappearing off the DVDs in your collection, you'll probably be more worried about not having enough time left in your life to watch them all!

In theory the technology should last 100 years but I have read around 8 or so - depends on how you take care of it, how the DVD itself was made, etc.....

Wha..Sorry, dozed off re-watching The English Patient. I think all the data was there. Have to check again to make sure. If you don't hear from me, call the police
