Apparently Sky paid 4/5 times more than Channel 4 originally did.

I think this demonstrates Buena Vista has no long term plans for Lost, unless they originally sold it to Channel 4 on the cheap. By opting for Sky they'll kill the audience share and devalue the price for future seasons when the Sky contract ends... it'll be stuck on Sky until it dies unless Channel 4 decide otherwise.

It's a little different to 24, because Fox were annoyed that the BBC were switching to a different satellite (to escape Sky's system), which would have also broadcast partially in mainland Europe. So there was little chance of it ever returning to the BBC.
Nope, definitely went to Sky for a short time.

Dont remember that happening with friends. Thought it was on channel 4 the whole time.

I got Sky anyway so I can still watch Lost.
Starts next month apparently. Woo!

Just in case anyone's missed it, Lost has gone the way of 24, with Sky grabbing the broadcast rights. So you'll have to subscribe to Sky or buy the DVDs to see it in the future.
