NEVER get AOL Internet
EVERYONE take a listen to this. For all of you computer illiterate simpletons in internetland using AOL (and I mean that with love Wink ), if you didn't already realize it - AOL IS GARBAGE! Not only do they fill your computer with junkware and spyware, but their software causes most of the problems you call them for tech support for.

Get a local internet provider instead.

That being said, the guy you can hear through the link below heard how hard it was to cancel service and decided to record his conversation with the CSR guy on the other end. It took him 21 minutes to get the service cancelled. At one point, the CSR asked to talk to his "Dad" - lolol The guy canceling is 30 years old and a home owner...lolol

Check it out!

I feel sympathy for this dude. I had a cellphone from my local Bell service a few years ago and it took me a good 30 minutes to get it cancelled. After showing up at one of their brick and mortar stores, they simply dialed up their customer service line and had me talk to a CSR in phoneland somewhere. I could have done that at home.

Later learning my lesson, when I was with another phone company called Fido, I managed to whittle down the time it took to cancel to 15 minutes. How? I told them I was moving out of the country...lol After asking if I had anyone to give the phone to...(which was NO)they had no where to go. Most of the wait time was on hold being transferred to the appropriate person.

Now I'm with Virgin Mobile and if I want to cancel, I just stop paying my bill. That's it. Phew.

Anyhow, just to re-iterate -

NEVER EVER GET AOL INTERNET

I used to have it, but it's better (and less expensive) to just get Comcast Cable instead.

I had my old AOL account broken into on three seperate occasions, and someone sent out massive spammings of porn under my name. That was fun, especially when no one at AOL was Mac capable.

Yeah, according to AOL you got that mail from me if you had an account 4 or 5 years ago. If I remeber correctly "I" was shilling "FREE CUM PICS BRITNAY SPEARS".

I had many of those messages that you recieved, instead switch Spears to Sharon Stone and switch pics to video.

I haven't been getting any for a while though.

To be fair, it's a bit like saying 'don't insert your penis into a meat grinder'.

You'd be surprised how many people actually need that warning though.  After all, sunshades for cars all carry warnings not to drive while they are in place in your windshield!

ya, a very late warning, but I'm sure some still appreciate it.  There is probably more hate sites about aol than microsoft.  Been that way for years.  It was even on 60 minutes about a week ago.  It showed this guy on camera trying to cancel his membership.  After about 1/2 to 45 min. hee finally got it cancelled.  Now lets just hope they still don't bill him.
