Go to Wal-Mart and buy their cheapest (I've found for $27) DVD player.  It's region free right out of the box.

Get it online from somewhere like Amazon.com, read the user comments below the product descriptions to make sure they are region-free or can be made region-free via codes. The big name brands should usually be avoided unless you get the player from a specialist retailer with firmware/hardware modifications done by them.
