I really enjoyed it but would have found myself liking it more if they'd gone with a different actress. I kept waiting for the story to explain why her character always appeared high and out of it and it never happened. She's a terrible actress.
I'm a Washington fan, but I'm not a big Wahlberg fan. I might rent it
I thought it was boring -- and it's a shame since it had all the ingredients for a fun film. But it's just glacial, boring, and there's fizzles between the two leads rather than sparks.
A big comedown for Baltasar Komakur, Wahlberg, and Washington IMO.

I agree, very 90's vibe. I remember some of the critics saying how this was confusing and stuff. Honestly, it all made sense to me. I am never one to figure out most films, but I didn't find that confusing at all. It was a lot of fun and I liked all the characters as well. It's one of those films you could come back to from time to time and enjoy. I'll be getting it.
I actually just saw this movie last week in the theatre, and it was a real fun ride. If you like late 90's style buddy action movies, this will satisfy you. It's nothing spectacular, but Washington and Wahlberg have excellent chemistry. Plus, Bill Paxton is really fun as one of the villains, and Edward James Olmos is a cartel boss, a long way from Lt. Castillo on "Miami Vice."
