I'm surprised Fox is announcing this so early. It is cool they are releasing it two days after it airs, and in an extended cut. The special features seem decent too. 24, while sometimes convoluted and downright stupid, is a great show. The same can be said of Lost and Heroes.

I love 24, but the last season to air was a big disappointment. Hopefully, the break afforded by the strike has created a new energy in the creative staff.
As far as this goes, do you think they'll offer this with the Season 7 box set that will inevitably come out? And if not, I bet it will be massively marked down by the time that box set is released.

I cannot wait to see this come November. I will watch it on air and get the DVD on that Tuesday. I need my Jack Bauer fix badly. I'm also glad the extended cut is 10 minutes longer.
I don't think FOX will put this on the season 7 set considering this project is supposed to be a standalone film. But, you never know. There is a very solid amount of special features and this will probably be selling between $14.99-19.99 in stores, so it's very affordable.

This... is... GREAT news! Definitely will pick it up, if it isn't as bad as season 6...
I can't wait to see this and season 7. Cool to see an extended cut. Too bad the extended cut couldn't be two hours, but it all depends on how they use time in 24: Exile compared to the series real-time format.
Some of the prequels aren't in real time (don't ask me which ones, I can't remember), so I wouldn't expect this one to be.
But who knows? Maybe it'll play out like 2 episodes in real time, although the plot description sure doesn't sound like it would be 2 hours...

The previous prequels ranged from 5 minutes to 10 minutes, so they were definitely not in real time.
When it airs on FOX, it will be 90 minutes and plus commercials it should be 2 hours in real time.

It looks more like it's an entire day (Inauguration Day, 2017) summarised in 2 hours.

Excuse me, Mr. Woodward. Sorry to sound so anal, but you added an extra "e" at the end of Redemption on the first line of the paragraph underneath "Further Details:".......
It was the French translation
Fixed
Looks pretty decent. Here is the 3 minute clip that played with Fringe on Sunday night. Audio is off a bit. There may be a better clip...

The previous prequels ranged from 5 minutes to 10 minutes, so they were definitely not in real time.
The season 3(?) prequel was in real time, as it's basically a meeting between Erin (the then head of CTU) and Jack, in which he is fired and he tells her that "he can find his own f**king job."
So some were (at least one was), and some weren't.

Heh...looks like Jack and I still carry the same piece, if I'm not mistaken; H&K USP Compact. Although he prefers 9mm, I prefer mine in .45.
