Fox Home Entertainment has sent over artwork for a limited edition of 28 Days Later which stars Cillian Murphy, Brendan Gleeson, Christopher Eccleston, and Naomie Harris. The disc will be available to own from the 1st May, and should retail at around $19.98. The film itself will be presented in anamorphic widescreen, along with an English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround track. Extras will be identical to that of the current release, albeit with an exclusive sneak peek at the theatrical sequel 28 Weeks Later through behind-the-scenes footage, and an exclusive “28 Days Later: The Aftermath” animated featurette that bridges the storyline between the two films. As an added bonus for fans, the DVD will also include a Movie Money coupon good for one free admission. We've attached the official package artwork below:

I might get it. I already have the original but nice artwork and it will be only a couple dollars when you factor in the coupon. I would have preferred a new 2-disc set with a long doc on the making-of, however, plus perhaps a cast track.
That's stupid. They are really screwing people over. It's a great movie but there's pretty much no reason to buy this edition. The one out now is good enough if you already own it. I do love that artwork though, but that's not enough for me to buy this.
I absolutely love 28 Days Later, I think it's one of the best horror/action films of this decade. But I refuse to see the sequel and will not be buying this DVD. Enough is enough.

Free ticket to go see 28 weeks later? I'm sold, considering the economics of the deal. I'm sure some retailer will have it between $10-12 and seeing as how an evening movie ticket is $9 near me, this is a no-brainer.
Beautiful cover art. I don't have the original edition, but I thought the movie was pretty good, so I may pick it up. Don't know why some people sneer at it, though. It's a lot better than those zombie remakes and sequels they're pushing out nowadays ("Dawn of the Dead", anyone?).
And the sequel looks pretty intriguing, although it looks like a retread of the first film. Cheddar and saydenie, the sequel may not have the same cast but Danny Boyle and Alex Garland are producing the sequel, so I guess they have confidence in the sequel.

very tempting?? i don't own the movie, but getting it with the coupon for the sequel. sounds like a bargin but i still heard that a directors cut of the movie is coming out probably by the end of the year.

I get that, but the grain and dirt tended to be distracting. Honestly, I know they wanted to give a documentary feel to the film and just by having it handheld and digital gave it a gritty feel. The dirt just seemed to added in, when tape isn't a medium that can accomulate impurities like dirt and specks.

It was shot on DV, not high def or even HDV. DV looks pretty bad, no matter what you do to it, so a decent transfer isn't something that's really possible.
Fox double-dipping the original before the sequel is released? WOW! Never saw that coming!

Haha, this one came right out of the blue! This is quite tempting with the movie money cash, considering you'll get this for like five bucks. I loved the premise out of this movie, but towards the end it dragged quite a bit. I really love zombie type flicks though, so maybe a second watch is necessary...
I'm getting this. I don't own it so this is the chance. and plus, it has a movie money.

I actually don't mind that 28 weeks later isnt directed by Danny Boyle. He did a great job and is moving on. I don't have any current expectations for this because I hope it'll be good!
