Nah, that ain't it. Press release says May 1st, a Tuesday. Tuesday means US, UK releases are on Monday. I was so gonna buy this, doesn't anyone know what happened?
I wonder if it was supposed to be region 2 announcement since they have the same release coming out on May 7 in UK
28 Days Later Limited Edition
I'm hoping for next week since it is suppossed to come with a movie ticket for "28 Weeks Later" but all my sources are coming up empty.

I was wondering the same thing. I can't find it on any site, and it's supposed to come out in, what, four days?

That pretty much sums up how I feel really. I mean, a sequel without the original cast and crew, can you spell failure (critically, well nowadays anything is a failure financially)?
I hate to correct you on this, but most of the same crew has been retained from "28 Days Later" (minus the director and screenwriter, of course). The sequel retains Mark Tildesley (production designer), Chris Gill (editor), John Murphy (composer) and Glenn Freemantle (sound designer). Even Danny Boyle and Alex Garland are staying on the production as executive producers, so they're involved with the sequel to an extent.

Well I suppose I have to get this seeing as... 1)I didnt buy it the first nor second times around 2)I want to see the second for free.
I actually don't mind that 28 weeks later isnt directed by Danny Boyle. He did a great job and is moving on. I don't have any current expectations for this because I hope it'll be good!

Pity we won't get the same offer down under but you never know - not worth upgrading otherwise.
But you never know, the sequel may be ok - sometimes they are - Aliens anyone for example?

I'm getting this. I don't own it so this is the chance. and plus, it has a movie money.
Haha, this one came right out of the blue! This is quite tempting with the movie money cash, considering you'll get this for like five bucks. I loved the premise out of this movie, but towards the end it dragged quite a bit. I really love zombie type flicks though, so maybe a second watch is necessary...
I like this movie alot, not a fan of that genera at all either!
since I don't own yet probably pick this one up so I have an exuse to see the follow up.

Fox double-dipping the original before the sequel is released? WOW! Never saw that coming!
It was shot on DV, not high def or even HDV. DV looks pretty bad, no matter what you do to it, so a decent transfer isn't something that's really possible.

I get that, but the grain and dirt tended to be distracting. Honestly, I know they wanted to give a documentary feel to the film and just by having it handheld and digital gave it a gritty feel. The dirt just seemed to added in, when tape isn't a medium that can accomulate impurities like dirt and specks.

I may pick this up. I usually don't like to double dip though. I can't wait to see the sequel however. Latino Review said that they loved the script and they are usually right on the money. http://www.latinoreview.com/scriptreview.php?id...
Since I don't have it yet,i'll get this version for sure.Great movie!
very tempting?? i don't own the movie, but getting it with the coupon for the sequel. sounds like a bargin but i still heard that a directors cut of the movie is coming out probably by the end of the year.
this is exacty why I never buy DVD's the first time around, so I can get the ones like this
That's all well and good but where's the friggen' blu-ray?

Perhaps give the video a new transfer? For a movie that was shot digitally, the transfer was much more dirtier than movies shot on film. I'm hoping Fox cleaned up the video a little bit, though.

Very very nice artwork. Though, I want this movie, I'm just going to pick up the cheap $8 one.

I love the new cover art
Nice
WOW... this had been out last year!!
not the limited edition, but, some type of this...

Beautiful cover art. I don't have the original edition, but I thought the movie was pretty good, so I may pick it up. Don't know why some people sneer at it, though. It's a lot better than those zombie remakes and sequels they're pushing out nowadays ("Dawn of the Dead", anyone?).
And the sequel looks pretty intriguing, although it looks like a retread of the first film. Cheddar and saydenie, the sequel may not have the same cast but Danny Boyle and Alex Garland are producing the sequel, so I guess they have confidence in the sequel.

Free ticket to go see 28 weeks later? I'm sold, considering the economics of the deal. I'm sure some retailer will have it between $10-12 and seeing as how an evening movie ticket is $9 near me, this is a no-brainer.

I won't see the sequel, but I think the original is grand (which I of course own already), although, except for the quote, that is some pretty nice art. Do you think the "blood" is the actual amaray under the slipcover with clear "holes" for it to show through?
"The Aftermath" is that new graphic novel that came out (or is coming out) for the movie no? Seems like they'd just streamline the images to make an "animated featurette".

That's stupid. They are really screwing people over. It's a great movie but there's pretty much no reason to buy this edition. The one out now is good enough if you already own it. I do love that artwork though, but that's not enough for me to buy this.
I might get it. I already have the original but nice artwork and it will be only a couple dollars when you factor in the coupon. I would have preferred a new 2-disc set with a long doc on the making-of, however, plus perhaps a cast track.
