where's the unrated bonus verison? Great movie not best ever though not even the best movie of year!!!
I didn't enjoy this movie as much as I wanted to. Although it was adapted from a Frank Miller graphic novel, there were too many slo-mo shots and the Persian King wasn't threatening at all (he looked more like a drag queen than anything). The beginning and ending of the film was good, but the middle was muddled to high heaven. It was a big disappointment for me, although it was pretty to look at.
Although I have to praise the WB for including commentaries again on their blockbuster films -- maybe we'll get one for the DVD release of "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix"?

c**p covers...they could've done better and i bet you there will eb a 3-disc edition of some sort coming out soon. give it about 4-5 months w/ better covers/packaging.
I'll buy the Special-Edition. Unfortunately I didn't catch this in theatres. I originally had no intentions to see this movie, but Frank Miller is a genius, so I'm really looking forward to this one.
I'll wait for the special edition that is sure to be out before Christmas...
WB rarely double dips, especially since they started releasing 1 and 2-disc versions simultaneously. The only in recent memory was the Matrix collection.
I just hope they release a Steelbook at Best Buy like they did for The Departed. Classy.

heard this sucked
I'm amazed that there's a commentary with this release. Maybe this is a turnaround to WBs current approach to not having commentaries on their releases.
Wait a minute, so the Special Edition will be released after the single disc ediion?

Where'd you get that from? Both are released on the 31st

Not really a big fan of the film...Alright it had some pretty good visuals but other than that it had nothing much to offer.
Coverart sucks...specially the single discer..another proof that monkeys are designing dvd covers for warner bros these days.

Very surprised this isn't the first TotalHD disc (HD DVD on one side/Blu-ray on teh other).
Since I'll be getting the blu-ray, I REALLY hope it will get PCM audio like The Departed did.

This was one of the worst movies I've ever payed to see in theaters.
Liked this movie, but it wasnt great, may pick up the 2 disc as the features are nice and heard about some of the deleted scenes.
On a side note; these 2 disc prices are killing me, they used to be $15, and now go for $22.99. And now this only gets me the barebones release of the movie. F U studio honchos. 'end rant'

Ok, so www.themanroom.com is saying that the HD DVD will have the entire film in green screen version via I.M.E. but because of limitations of Blu-ray, they will just get the accompanying commentary. BOTH versions will have TrueHD, but I believe only the PS3 can currently decode TrueHD.
Can't freaking wait! Loved the movie!
PIECE-O-TRASH!
How bout we make a movie that is 50% screaming and 50% slow motion, yeah that sounds good. It'll look cool because we're using Frank Miller's visual style. No character development? No problem. Bad dialogue? No problem. It's violent and looks cool so people will buy into it.
God, what a horrible movie. While Frank Miller is great, Zack Snyder is not. Give him back to Robert Rodriguez so we can get Sin City 2 going.

I will wait probably for the director's/extended cut or one with a gift inside the set..
I enjoyed this movie waaaaaaaaaaay too much...twice
And do I feel guilty about it? Not at all.
I hope the covers get revised. Not sure if I just want the single disc or the double disc.

The artwork for both editions look pretty good, I think. Don't see why many of you are complaining -- the single-disc artwork is taken from one of the character posters and the 2-disc edition doesn't look bad either.
i've learned my lesson, i'm waiting for the Director's Cut.
Am I the only one that isn't able to see any of the images on the recent posts? All I'm getting is an image of "This is an exclusive image from DVDActive"

Try pressing control-f5 on the keyboard. That should sort it.

I actually had to rewatch the Dawn of the Dead remake to reassure myself that it wasn't as bad as this was.
I just honestly didn't care at all what happened to any of the EXTREMELY uninteresting characters and while visually it was eye-catching, I can say the same for most Miller work (with some exceptions): beautifully rendered but with a meh-uninteresting story.

surprised they didnt throw in the graphic novel like they did with sin city's special edition.....though, as someone stated, thats probably being reserved for the inevitable 3 disc severed limbs editions..lol

I can't tell you how many times I'v screamed "This... is.... [Insert current location here]" while kicking someone in slow motion. Total badassery.
Have you only seen like, five movies? Seriously, this movie was great entertainment, but nothing more. It is a popcorn movie, one that was made to be watched to "veg out". It's nowhere near the greatest movie ever made. I mean, I'm all for the whole "opinion" thing, but seriously.

it was worth checking out once...for the visuals, at least.
I will be getting the Blu-Ray Disk when it comes out 7/31. Come on July!
