I have resisted all this time to get the DVD for this! Mouahaha. I'll be the 1st in line on release day for this beauty. (Will look good next to my Blade Runner suitcase).
Trying to squeeze out every last dollar they can out of 300, eh? This set is about a year too late.
Ancient legend!? The 300?! It is history! Why it say legend in description?

I agree, the monkey men, the 8ft man etc just spoiled the whole undertone of the movie.
** Spoiler **
Actually, I cant get over the fact that the spartan leader, being perceived as extremely smart tactically, would ever allow the deformed man to leave, knowing full well he was in knowledge of the one way the enemy could retake the advantage.

Digital copy? Yes!
Awful movie...but looks a great boxset. If it was 2 years ago !!!
This is on blu-ray/hd-dvd so what the hell is the point !!!
I fell for the 'digital copy' disc on my rambo collection. Cant wait to replace that disc with Rambo 6.

Yeah I don't have any of that. Only the memories of meeting Lena Headey
Oh and you hit one of my pet peeves - Disk is magnetic based storage, like a Hard Disk. Disc is optical based, like DVD Disc.

I'll be picking this one up as I don't own the BD version. I am such a box-set w**re.
Also, will this copy also have the *see 300ondvd.com for copyright information about the score* sticker I've seen at Best Buy?

what irks me is the movie studios are using this to create fake 2-disc SE's, that should be just decent 1-disc releases with a few extras. So the "digital copy" is good for some, but for others who are willing to shell out more dollars for a 2-disc DVD set, it's decieving, gotta read the fine print these days on 2-disc SE's cause of the digital copy.

Yeah, what do they expect you to do with those? This, the I Am Legend one, that Batman: The Animated Series one... where do you put them? For me at least, BTAS can pass because, well, its BTAS, but... double-dipping not necessary for 300 or I Am Legend.
I do so hate when they release things that just WON'T fit on a shelf. Again, the BTAS one is just awesome, and has some legit extras, but all the stuff on this and I Am Legend seem a bit superfluous.

i liked the movie a lot, i must say, but not my favorite movie, so i think im gonna pass on this one...
I liked the movie as much as the next guy, but I don't need all of that extra stuff. I'll just get the bluray they have out now!

I'm possibly going to avoid the digital copy for this one. Thank you!
I'm usually a sucker for such a nice double-dip offering, in this case I don't love the film enough to warrant buying into such a nice double-dip. It's a great movie indeed, but the steelbook is plenty for me. If this was the Matrix movies, I'd be a sucker for those but for 300, no thanks Warner. Keep up these nice edition though, this looks very nice.

Pass
I did too.

I did too.
That sure is a nice looking set but still... no, not for me.
Great artwork, too expensive and the film is very entertaining, but not worth a double dip.
Pass for me too.
Hollywood gave us an exaggerated version of Greek history, now give us a Riddley Scott esq version based more on reality. I am sure there are many more stories to tell. I am not a student of Greek history but I would like to be. If anything 300 did inspire people to read Greek History or at least about the Spartans.I did.

Great looking set, too bad I already own it.
My current Blu-ray edition of 300 is great enough without having to double-dip. Pass!!

The Horror, The Horror...not only is this movie bad and overrated, but it doesn't deserve the 3-disc triple dip...oh well...
A bit late for this one....and that price! I know it will drop but with the Blu already out there it's not really worth it
Well as a completist, I own the COmic Con set, the Best Buy Exclsuive set so I'll have to get this!
so this "uber" edition is not coming to blu-ray afterall, the site i read that on updated...well damn. lol
i don't really care for special features like i use to....now i only like special features to the movies that i REALLY REALLY like. cuz all features now are just boring generic stuff which u can careless about.
I'm happy with my steelbook copy too. I don't know anyone who will buy this because as others have said, whoever waanted this movie has it already. Some set like this would have been better 5 years down the road after the initial release.
I would love some jam-packed edition but I have to really love the movie like E.T. and I have the ultimate edition there. Now if Warner Bros. releases a set like this of 'Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves' I'll be all over that like butter on popcorn.

I'm happy with my Steelbook.
Man, Warners REALLY likes their jacked-up ultimate editions, but looking at their upcoming slate, I'd rather have the films on their own. I don't need all those useless bells and whistles.
well just found out this version is also hitting blu-ray. now i just need more info about this new documentary and its length.
Pretty good movie, but I think i'm going to pass on this one.
Cripes.
The box and contents look amazing, but it's kinda over the top when you think about it. Looks as if WB is doing this treatment for quite a few other films as well according to that Digital Bits link above.
I'm passing on this, as I bought 300 and Blood Diamond on Blu-ray back in June when they went on sale at Best Buy for $15 apiece.

Pointless. Past
yes this news has been around.
If you guys want to see the packaging it's towards the bottom of the page along with a bunch of other upcoming special editions

Anyway, this is a pretty over the top, and useless release for such a recent film.

Sounds like a really pretentious documentary. We got all we needed on the first Blu edition (or at least I did). Totally not worth it. Warner should really focus on bringing LOTR to Blu by Christmas. Now THAT I would buy.
I'll hold off for the blu-ray version next year.
I'm actually getting rid of my 2-Disc DVD for the Blu-Ray. Not this!
wow thats one fancy package for just a single movie. lol
but yeah unless the new documentary is feature length and it comes to blu-ray, i wont buy this. my regular dvd 2 disc is fine.

Haven't gotten around to getting this yet, I might pick it up depending on what kinda cash I've got.
Since this is WB I'm not surprised.
I don't and probably never will.
I imagine SEVERAL people already own one of the various versions(including the HD ones) so i dont see many people buying this

Quote: a 300: Limited Collector's Edition box set will be available this fall on DVD only, as a special box set including all the previous DVD extras along with two new documentaries (Recreating the Spartan Era and 300: Legend Filtered Through History, Graphic Novel and Film), as well as other exclusive memorabilia (a lenticular hologram, artwork cards and more). The reason it's DVD only? The studio tells us that a much more elaborate Blu-ray Disc version is currently in production for release in 2009, complete with new BD-Live and Bonus View content. It's tentatively set for about mid-year, so watch it to arrive in stores about a year from now. We'll have more details as they become available.

What's the point? The current BD release is perfectly good.
blu-ray verison?
well yeah...alls there is here is one doc...knowing the way the features on the disk are already its probably only half an hour long. besides a transforming the book to the comic could just as easily be seen in a making of book or something. saves you money if you think about it
Boy, didn't see this one coming.....
Here comes the next gawd damn wave of chitty double dips. Welcome to the 3-disc sets.
