Fox Home Entertainment has announced 1-disc DVD ($29.99) and 2-disc Blu-ray ($39.99) releases of (500) Days of Summer which stars Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Each will be available to own from the December 22nd. The only extra material on the DVD release will be a commentary with Director Marc Webb, Writer Michael Weber, Co-Writer Scott Neustadter and Actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Deleted and Extended Scenes With Optional Commentary. The Blu-ray edition will include all that, along with a Making (500) Days of Summer featurette, 2 audition tapes for Geoffrey Arend and Matthew Gray Gubler with optional director commentary, storyboards, a “Sweet Disposition” music video by Temper Trap, 6 Conversations With Zooey and Joseph, Bank Dance Directed By Marc Webb, Filmmaking Specials, a digital copy of the film, and more. Glad the cover is actually quite nice.
Artwork looks more like a book cover. Otherwise, great artwork. I'll Netflix it.

first day buy for me as well, amazing movie.
At least they still make DVDs - for now. tis the studios' wy of showing what the better format is, which is clearly blu-ray.
I've gone blu-ray but I still complain when they shaft DVDs since I still buy those two since they are much cheaper and I don't want a blu-ray for movies like 'Observe & Report' when the DVD is $10 cheaper but it has no special features. Lame.
I will not miss out on this. I am tempted to find a place I can watch it for free.
