More like "8 Films To Not Care About". Last year's lineup looked better than this.
I try to keep up with horror, but I honestly haven't heard much about any of these. Has anyone seen them all? Do any of these titles really stand out?
I love horror films. We're definately living in a time where the public desires them. I only wish more attention would be paid to the script and direction, instead of the crazy ways studios can make loud noises so people in the audience will jump and or yell. Whatever happened to social commentary in horror? The 70s may have been gory and exploitative, but at least a lot of the films of that age attempted to make a point, if only to say, "Hey, really bad things exist within humanity, look and really think about what we're capable of." Voyeurism is intrinsic in horror, true, but most of the time there has to be at least a little reason. Or, I guess, that's my opinion anyhow.
(That's not to say there are no good horror films nowadays, there are plenty. I just think there are also a lot of poor ones. And, unfortunately, I think they only continue to further the belief that horror is a lesser genre, which is simply a shame.)

I knew Rider Strong was in Borderland with Sean Astin, which made me want to see it off the strength of them alone, but now I see that Rider is also in Tooth and Nail with Michael Madsen. So there's at least two I'm watching.
I thought he was great in Cabin Fever, and am eager to see him in other horror films!
That, and I do love a good Boy Meets World episode, lol

Not too many of these look good, I bought Dark Ride from last years series...I thought it was really good
I am not too interested in any of these, so I probably won't get any.
All rentals for me on Netflix.com
It's a shame the movies aren't as good as the covers.
I watched a few of last years, The Hamiltons & Dark Ride where awful but the Abandoned was ok.
I'll wait for some reviews this time.

Yeah. Well I was going to see the film festival but it just has bad written all over it. But I will give it a chance by renting it. But why do they do these film festivals when no one seems them, not even the critics (Hold for suspense)

I know. Just by looking at Lake Dead. Do you know it was suppose to come out July 13 but then they rescheduled it?

Movies to die of boredom while watching probably..
Lionsgate is sitting on their classic movies from the Arkoff estate and have no idea what to do with them, so they just release c**ppy direct to video movies while their older better titles sitting in the vaults do just that..sit there
And the really bombed out with the Cary Grant set for people wanting that..
Lionsgate sucks as far as this movie fan is concerned

I might have to rent some of these before buying any.
BORDERLAND and MULBERRY STREET are supposed to be really good. I'll rent all of them though. I found most of the first set of films to be quite solid. I loved WICKED LITTLE THINGS and the clever indie gem THE HAMILTONS, and liked THE GRAVEDANCERS, UNREST, and THE ABANDONED. Didn't care much for PENNY DREADFUL, and DARK RIDE sucked. I didn't bother with REINCARNATION because I'm not big on the Japanese horror flicks. A lot of them are so similar and this seemed like another GRUDGE, which sucked.
Saw The Deaths of Ian Stone. Very classy-looking for a DTV, and the performaces are more than just okay... but the script, oh, god, it's just... terrible. Caked with one of the lousiest twist you've ever seen and full of implausibilities. Ugh. It's really, really bad.
These certainly looked better than the first batch. And having only watched Dark Ride, I hope they're better. I also have Wicked Little Things, but I really don't want to sit through another 90 minute snooze fest that will leave me irritated to no end.
Well you should watch it. It's WAY better than DARK RIDE. That was the worst, and pretty much everyone seems to hate that one.
the art for crazy eights has the spine of nightmare man.
The covers certainly look like some effort has been spent, but many DTV sleeves have improved vastly since say, the 90's. I can't say I've heard of any of the movies, or the majority of the cast however.
Definately buying Mulberry Street, the only film I saw last year and the only one I really cared about. All the rest, rentals.
