I might check this out for $3 on a rental. Reviews weren't good enough to warrant a $10 theatre ticket.

I just can't get around that crazy a$$ predailen hybrid. Why do they feel the need to "take it to the next level" like that?
There were many absurd aspects to Allien:Ressurection but the kicker (IMO) was the human/alien hybrid at the end.
Hated Alien3 originally because of the Dog/Alien, but time and multiple viewings have given me a new appreciation for it. Something kept telling me to keep giving it a chance.
Aliens and Predators are well established scary looking creatures, if you have a good writer who knows how to use them properly, you don't need to "redesign" them for each film. Leave a good design alone!

Interesting box art....
box art looks similar in style to the AVP 1 unrated disc...thats a nice touch.
and you know i'm not a "blind buyer" but i have all 4 alien movies, both predators and the first AVP...even if i dont like this, i know i'd eventually buy it for "completition's sake" so i think this will be my first blind buy....besides with all the hate AVP got, i enjoyed it so i'll probably like this one too...and its another excuse to build up my small blu-ray library.

This movie s*cked sooooo bad. I wouldn't waste a nickel more on it. What a disappointment after the first AVP. AVO had a good story, this has none! Zero! Zip! No storyline at all. Pointless movie!
I had problems with this movie but I didn't hate it. Call me a sucker but I'll probably go for the 2-disc edition when it goes on sale for the right price.
terrible movie! it was so bad i had to walk out of the theater
We need some extremely talented directors and writers to save this franchise. What's happening to these creatures just ain't right.
Digital copy?
Buh?
Buh?

Well, I think you answered your own criticism with the Alien3 comparison. Since Alien3, it has been accepted canon that Aliens take on traits from the host that they impregnate. So why the misunderstanding on why there'd be a Pred-Alien?

I thought this was waaaaay better than AvP1. If you go into a film like this expecting the Godfather, then you're just outright retarded. If you accept it for what it is (mindless entertainment), then it's great. The director said before it came out that he went for what was so great about the previous movies - no character development and mindless killing. If you ask me, he succeeded.
God the sequal was HORRIBLE,I was so excited to see it and it blew so hard! BUT I may give the unrated one a Shot because it could somehow be better...yet I doubt it!
why must all bad films have to receive the best cover art? Ehhhh!
yes, from the trailer i could already underestimate this movie. It sucked.

Not a misunderstanding especially given the final scene in the first AvP.
I didn't mind the Dog/Alien so much but wasn't crazy about it either. But since then, subsequent films have the alien crossbreeding with other species to create weird alien hybrids just so the filmmakers could design a "bigger and badder" looking Alien, when the original was just fine.
I was just citing that if they HAD to have a hybrid alien, I felt Alien3 was the most effective use of the crossbreeding plot device and subsequent versions have been increasingly more rediculous.

The Predalien's been around for quite a while. It first appeared in the games and i'm sure it's popped up in comics and novels as well.

My friend loves the first AvP, loves the video games, etc. Even he didn't like this one, but like a few on here, he will buy it for completion's sake.
I, on the other hand, loathed the first AvP, only like the first two Alien films, and like the first Predator. I'm not a huge fan of either creature. I'm staying far away from this one lest he decides to watch it sometime I'm over.

Loved it. Cant wait to get it.
It's funny how people here don't seem to realize that the PredAlien is nothing new...it's been in the series for a loooong time; this was just the first film treatment it got...
And the film was hardly as bad as people here are claiming...people go in expecting too much from an action movie, and you know what? It actually had mildly decent character development...it was just a bit too short once the action began...

Preaching to the choir here. If it's not some indie c**p like Juno (which I have seen and I thought was good) or some catalog release of an Oscar winner, people here always basically get excited to trash it.
And use CAPITAL letters to prove that their opinion is the correct one.

What's up with another 2-disc digital copy. Fox is desperate.
What kind of award do people receive when buying bad movies just to complete a collection? The more you buy, the more waste products will be shoved down your throats
fun, silly movie. just as good (if thats a good thing) as the first. ill just get the standard dvd.
in my opinion, hope they make a third and close the series to continue with standalones

Well, for one, there was two directors, and two, Aliens had great characters (as did Predator).

Hi, my name is Thembones and I'm a Predator/Alien addict. Hi, Thembones. I've been addicted to both franchises from the beginning. It started with the initial Alien release which scared the bejesus out of me. Then I got the VHS and played it continuously until it looked like I was watching it through a glass of milk. I couldn't help myself. 2 or 3 times a day. I tried everything to kick the movie out of the VCR but nothing worked. It was jammed in there like a popcorn kernel between your teeth. Then came Aliens. Talk about a monkey on my back. Then Predator, the comics, the cross-over comics and it all just got so freaking cool over the years with sequels and talk of sequels. Then this internet thing started and I found others like myself who were addicted to monsters, aliens with lots of blood and gore with poor hapless humans in their path.
Well, it's years later and I'm still hooked like a junkie. Sure, AvP and AvPR weren't the greatest cross over movies ever created but they feed my addiction and I like them for what they are and that's good enough. It seems that with just about any comic book or franchine movie there will never be made a movie to satisfy everyone and their expectations. Sure, Hollywood blows it up beyond expectations but this is what we get. So, there's very little point to complaining because the deed has been done. Sit back and enjoy the ride.

I remember I thought there was no way this could be as piss poor as the original AVP. I was DEAD WRONG. This film felt straight to sci-fi channel the whole time with little to no respect to the film series it's based upon aside from cringe-inducing homages in the names of characters. The predator was amazingly weak and the Predalien although I suppose could be a cool inclusion was played pathetically...and all the characters are teenagers ripped from "I know what you did last scream" horror films of the late 90's with the beneficial soap operatic development of angst cliches. Awful, awful film...and although they played it up for their intense violence in the comparison to the PG-13 of the original...it was hardly so (certainly could pass for PG-13 with just a few trims)...and really when does that make a movie better anyways even if it is "Alien" or "Predator".
This movie was much better the AVP 1
this a cool cover

The Predalien cover art looks pretty nice.
