Universal has sent over the artwork and specs for the popular anthology series
Title: Amazing Stories
Starring: Various
Released: 18th July 2006
SRP: $49.98
Further Details:
Universal Home Video has revealed the official artwork and specs for the complete first season of Steven Spielberg's Amazing Stories. The four-disc package will be available to own from the 18th of July, and should set you back around $49.98. Each of the season's twenty-four episodes will be presented in 1.33:1 full frame, along with English Dolby Digital 5.1 audio and subtitles in English and Spanish. So far the only extras appear to be an assortment of deleted scenes spread across each disc of the set, but we'll let you know if that changes. It should also be pointed out that the discs will be of the DVD-9 variety, which is a welcome departure from the double-sided discs Universal has previously released. We've attached our first look at the official package artwork as well as a couple of menus below:

I've been waiting on this ever since television programs started appearing on DVD--really excellent stuff. I've tried catching it whenever teh Sci-Fi Channel has sporadically run it, but it will be very nice to have each episode complete and not edited for syndication.
FINALLY!
What year was this show from. I`ve never heard of it.
The series ran on NBC for two seasons or 45 episodes from 85-87 with some half hour and some full hour episodes in that span. My own personal favorite is included in season one and I haven't seen it in years, "The Mission" with Kevin Costner. It's a WWII story about a bomber that loses its landing gear with one of the crew in the ballgun turret underneath and unable to get out when a landing must be made.

This is actually the episode I tend to see most often when it's aired on TV....guess it's a lot of people's favorite! Good stuff!

Warner Bros announced that they are planning to release the Twilight Zone Movie on DVD sometime Q4 of 2006 or sometime 2007.
I would have rather seen cover art that refelcted the title sequence of the show.
This looks like some sort of Biblical Epic to me.
I know it is not, but the style is there.
BTW, "The Mission" is hands down one of the best hours ever on TV. Directed by Speilberg, no less.

Huh?

When did they announce that? Link please?
Last WB said anything about this title was during their live chat with Home Theater Forum and all they said was they were basically hopeful of a release, they gave no dates or any other details.

Sweet. This is just good television, and it shall be added to my shelf, oh yes... it shall.
I also concur on the episode entitled "The Mission", just plain great.

As far as I remember
In Europe, 4 episodes were theatricaly released as a motion picture.
The mission (the pilot actually), Mummy Daddy (directed by W."Harry & The Hendersons" Dear), The Main Attraction (don't remember this one to well, sorry) and a fourthone from Bob Zemeckis, with a headless teacher.
This "movie" was latter released in LD by Universal

Now all we need is for Warner to release "Twilight Zone: The Movie" on DVD so everything that Spielberg has done will be on disc.
