me too first day purchase
About time. I've come __this__ close to ordering the second Canadian release of this blu-ray.
Lionsgate buys many Miramax titles, but once again fails to give fans new bonus features... will stick with my DVD until something MORE worthy comes out.
This movie deserves a more creative cover art...
Should have ordered the Aussie disc. Looks to be the same and it's dead cheap.
Is the Aussie disc region free or B?
EDIT: Nvm I figured it out. Hmm, I may just order the Aussie disc then. I had no idea it was Region free.

Bruno Delbonnel...on Blu-ray...eyegasm.
If this is anything like the excellent Australian blu-ray it will look stunning.
Extras look about the same, the commentary is still missing :-(.

You still can, no?
Why on earth is Amelie R rated?

There are two Canadian releases? The first has no English subs right?

Right you are, and awful picture quality. The one that came out last year is supposed to be a lot better, has english subs, and is in 1080p.
As for the R-rating, yeah... its pretty dumb. Australia and the US have censorship boards that are afraid of nudity, so I'm guessing the stripper in the sex shop and the imagined orgasm montage were enough to warrant it for them.

One of my favorite movies ever.

Thanks. Hopefully it's as good as the Australian Blu-ray. Which is 1080p/24p and
excellent.

It looks to be M in Australia, which is 12 rated. So roughly the same as PG-13/the UK 12A.
It's 15 in the UK, which is better than R rated but 12A would've made more sense.

More "sugary" than a "sugar rush" to me.
That such a cloyingly bland movie is getting and R in the USA only comes to show how scary things are in the country when it comes to the meddling morals of puritanism in matters of art and free speech.

One of the creepiest faces in hi-def.
Not creepy cute as.

Stupid quote on the front though.
