Quote: It was summer 1999 when four small-town Michigan boys began a quest to lose their virginity. In the years that have passed, Jim (Jason Biggs, Life Happens, "Mad Love") and Michelle (Alyson Hannigan, "How I Met Your Mother") got married while Stifler (Seann William Scott, Role Models) still refuses to grow up. Kevin (Thomas Ian Nicholas, Please Give) and Vicky (Tara Reid, "Scrubs") said goodbye while Oz (Chris Klein, American Dreamz) and Heather (Mena Suvari, "American Horror Story") grew apart. Finch (Eddie Kaye Thomas, "How to Make It in America") still longs for Stifler's mom (Jennifer Coolidge, Legally Blonde) and Jim's dad (Eugene Levy, Best in Show) is learning to date. The hormonal teens who launched a comedy legend return as American Reunion brings this beloved franchise back with "flat out hilarious, raunchy fun" (Pete Hammond, Box Office Magazine).

I'm so glad they kept the artwork consistent with the 3 re-releases of the original trilogy. I loved this movie and was laughing the whole time, so I'll definitely be buying it (plus it'll fit in perfectly on my shelf next the other 3 movies).
Is it safe to say this was a bomb?
Other than the stars going on TV shows to promote the movie nobody talked about it.

It's at $172m worldwide and it's just opened in a bunch of major markets. Is $225-250m on a $50m budget a bomb?
I'll be buying this. Was pretty funny and the films always have a fair number of good extras.
Yeah, this definitely wasn't a bomb. It underperformed domestically but overseas box office more than made up for it. Still doubt we'll see anymore with the original cast. Wonder if Universal will try and continue the "American Pie Presents" line of direct-to-disc films?

This movie was just alright. It pretty much recycled every joke and wacky scenario that would've occurred in the first three. Which would've been okay had they put a new spin to it, but it felt so tired and been-there-done-that, that gave it a really flat feel to it. I honestly enjoyed "American Wedding" more than this one, which seems to be heavily bashed on here. I really am not that big of a fan of the series to be honest. The first was decent at best, the second went downhill, and the third was okay. The problem with these films is that there's just no direction. It's just joke after joke interspersed with some heartfelt scenes thrown in for good measure.

Agree, and let's hope not. Band Camp was fun and included at least 2 original cast members along with a bunch of sets and references to the original 3. Beta House and Naked Mile were amusing to a point as well but definitely a step down. Book of love was just pure c**p.
I am just waiting for "American Retirement" though, where the gang gets back together at East Great Falls Retirement Community for a bunch of new mis-adventures. This including a moment at the end where the tables turn and an early 50s Finch seduces a hot young barely legal girl who just happens to be working at the community...

Let's face it, the reason this didn't do well at the box-office was due to it opening right at the same time of The Hunger Games. Followed a few weeks later by The Avengers. Therefore, one needs to wake up and realize when picking out a release date for your film don't do it the same frame of time as say a big Superhero laden action packed feature, a film based on a series of graphic novels, or (and all you ComiCon nuts can say HERE HERE) a movie produced, directed, or written by Joss Whedon.
