Anchorman (US - BD)
DreamWorks has announced a Blu-ray release of The Legend of Ron Burgundy
Title: Anchorman (IMDb)
Starring: Will Ferrell
Released: 15th March 2011
SRP: Price TBC
Further Details:
DreamWorks has announced a Blu-ray release of Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy for March 15th. Extras will include commentary by Adam McKay, Will Ferrell, Lou Rawls, Andy Richter, Kyle Gass, Paul Rudd, David Koechner, and Christina Applegate, deleted and extended scenes, bloopers, and an ESPN Sports Center Audition by Ron Burgundy. Art is attached:

Quote: Will Ferrel (Old School, Elf) is Ron Burgundy, a top-rated 1970's San Diego anchorman who believes women have a place in the newsroom - as long as they stick to covering fashion shows or late-breaking cooking stories. So when ron is told he'll be working with a bright young newswoman (Christina Applegate) who's beautiful, ambitious and smart enough to be more than eye candy, it's not just a clash of two TV people with really great hair - it's war! Filled with wicked wit and slapstick humor, Anchorman is the year's most wildly irreverent, must-see comedy hit!

It's Paramount all the way. There are three different Dreamworks actually. Dreamworks Animation, the film library (that was handled by Universal) and the current Dreamworks. But it makes no difference as all three are currently handled by Paramount. Disney has nothing to do with any of the three.
The thing with the Wake Up Ron Burgundy disc is that it featured almost all the extras. I don't know if the new edition will be disc 1 from the Best Buy set or if it includes extras from disc 2 set but you can still get the full 2 disc edition in the UK.

Which version of DreamWorks is releasing this: the version where the earlier film library belongs to Paramount or the new version that's owned by Disney?
Yeah, I dropped close to 30 bucks on the Best Buy release because I really wanted Wake Up Ron Burgundy (which I had rented on DVD way back when, but is OOP and was really hard to find). The Best Buy release also had some nifty trading cards and a Ron Burgundy daily planner thing that made for a humorous read while waiting for a table at the Olive Garden the night I bought it. That, coupled with just a ridiculous amount of special features on both discs. I highly recommend picking up the BB release if you have the opportunity.
I ended up buying this from Best Buy when it first came out.
About two years ago at a college film class I attended, someone actually presented and analyzed two scenes from this film for the class and the teacher. Most of the other eight films chosen were dramas. I saw the film and liked it, but it's not worth owning.
"Zoolander" for starters.
I remember seeing this at Best Buy too on sale for $10. What other comedies need a Blu-Ray release? Does anyone know anymore good titles that still haven't got announced for Blu-Ray?
.
Best Buy had an exclusive run with this title until i guess March 15. However, the edition at Best Buy also includes a Second Blu Ray disc that contains the film comprised of a deleted story line called: Wake Up Ron Burgandy! and has more special features.
I bought this at Best Buy the day it came out there (August 31 if memory serves)fr $20, but I have seen it on sale for $10 numerous times

Isn't this the same thing already out at Best Buy?

... I guess not, since BB lists the new one as well.
