Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced DVD ($28.95) and Blu-ray ($34.95) releases of Animal Kingdom for January 18th. Extras on the DVD will include an audio commentary with Director David Michôd, a Making of Animal Kingdom featurette, and a Q&A with Director David Michôd and Actors Jacki Weaver and James Frecheville. The Blu-ray release will include a hour long featurette entitled Creating Animal Kingdom instead of the Making of Animal Kingdom feature. Artwork is attached:

This is one of the best movies of the year. Guy Pearce was outstanding in this and "The King's Speech."

If Jacki Weaver doesn't sweep the critics' awards this year, they just aren't doing their job right.
Really wanted to see this. Will be blind buying.
Heard this was good. WILL rent.
A must own - a real Australian classic. Jackie Weaver deserves Oscar attention, just as much as Ben Mendelsohn. I still live in a frame of mind where this will eventually get a Criterion release. Like it desperately deserves.
