great movie; I never picked up the director's cut because I wanted to have the original too, so i'll pick this up for sure.

2-discs?
A movie like Apocalypse Now should be 3 or 4 discs?
Otherwise, can't wait.

I thought 2 disc was a bit short as well. I dont even think that the 'Redux' version fits on one disc - although I might be wrong.
Anything claiming to be the 'complete' dossier should contain 'heart of darkness' in order to be fully complete. Think I might hold out a little longer.

WTF, still no Heart of Darkness?

It seems this is Coppola's own doing, since American Zoetrope was the production company of Heart of Darkness.
That's pretty cool looking packaging though.

Seems like a great package, let it be digipak inside
This is an excellent film, a legend on its own...

Where's "Heart of Darkness???"
This looks cool either way. I have redux...but I have never seen the original cut. This might be worth a pickup
I have both and I just love this film

The original cut is better, Redux is too long and unfocused.

Heart Of Darkness is one of my favorite novels, great film. While the film is brilliant, I would still love to see a Heart Of Darkness movie based directly on the novel.
Yep, gonna pick this one up too!

I cannot wait to get this. I love this movie. Absolutly brillant. Enough said
Harrison Ford

Is is just me, or wasn't Martin Sheen, not Harrison Ford in this? Or was Harrison in the Redux?

By the way, my quote above is from the package detail, not what you said Steve. I copied the quote command and forgot to take your name out

Martin Sheen is the lead in this movie, but Harrison Ford has a bit part in it. They probably forgot to list Martin Sheen.... how could they......

Too bad Heart(s) of Darkness (the doc) isn't on here (Paramount should at least release it seperatly, they have it on VHS) but the packaging is awesome and it seems like a pretty well-rounded Special Edition, so I plan on picking it up.
We demand "Hearts of Darkness" Mr. Coppolla. Please.
nice package... didnt see this one EVER

Heart of Darkness has been filmed by acclaimed director Nicolas Roeg.

Have Redux, but I'd like to have the original cut as well.
Oh, one more thing that's rather important. The transfer on the current Redux disc is misframed at 1.85:1 rather than the correct 2.20:1 (I think) it should be.

Apparently Coppola isn't very happy about the documentary so I think it won't be released for a while, at least not without some changes.
Sure enough, checked ole IMDB and there is ole Ford listed, he played Col Lucas. How about that, learn something new everyday.
I already have redux, have seen the Original Cut, and am absolutely getting this SE. The Original Cut is a masterpiece, but Redux is not in the same league. I would have already purchased the OC if it wasn`t so expensive, but this upcoming release is very good news indeed. A must buy.
*For some reason though, I`m not digging that artwork. Plus this set should have been a three discer.

Damn, I really need to see this.
The speculation at the moment is whether or not the picture quality of the original cut will be converted to that of the Redux. Thoughts?
Heart of Darkness portrays Copolla as a crazy druggie, so it's only logical for Copolla not to release it.
Redux is TERRIBLE, compared to the original cut. The pressure that Copolla was under was a blessing- if he had used his time efficiently, we probably would have REDUX as the original cut.

I love the smell of DVDs in the morning.
