damn, thats one packed release. i never bought any version til the Universal blu from last year or whatnot so this will be awesome for me. i had seen the director's cut when i rented it so it'll be nice seeing it without the terrible image on the added scenes.
but i had no clue there were 4 versions?! so yeah along with the extras, this will be very fun to dig through. wonder if they'll do a special packaging like the Nightbreed release...maybe some sorta book of the dead packaging to match the old "book of the dead" releases of the first two movies. those looked great and i switched the discs for the blu releases so i could keep em!

That meaning DNred and contrast-boosted to death? Not a very hopeful prospect...
Don't forget edge enhanced!
Okay, but I mean, all that is what we got with the currently available Universal Blu-ray. Pretty much anything will be an improvement.
I wouldn't put money on it!
Also, can something be the 'most definitive version'? Surely it's either the definitive edition or it isn't? There aren't degrees in between...

Very excited for this, the current Blu-ray is baaaaaad.
Maybe there's a competition to see which Evil Dead film gets the most re-releases?
hopefully they can add the director's cut with the theatrical and clean it up. i remember seeing it years back and the image quality in the "new scenes" took such a drop it was like switching from dvd to vhs.
but if they managed to put together and clean up both Halloween 6 and the Nightbreed Director/Producer cuts, this should be easy assuming getting the rights to it are as well.
