Fantastic show. I still cant believe that Fox cancelled it. This is a must own DVD for me. This was a very worthy final season, some classic moments. Charlize Theron was hysterical!

I got into this show after the cancellation n DVD but I must say Fox is idiotic for cancelling such a gem. Can't wait to pick this one up.
As good as this show was, it had less viewers than some WB & UPN shows. So no, FOX was not idiotic in cancelling it. Be grateful they gave it three years attempting to find an audience instead of killing it after just one like they WOULD have had it not won any awards.
Some people just don't how stations work.

I agree that it was blessed to get the time it did, but I also have to blame FOX for Mitch Hurwitz not wanting to do the show anymore. Showtime was more than willing to pick the show up (they even said, half of FOX's audience would make it a hit for them), but Hurwitz said he was so jaded by his experience with FOX that he'll probably never do a TV show again.
EDIT: Oh, and that's the same quote as Season 2, I hope they change it.

To bad it never lasted. It was the funniest thing on TV.
I cant wait for this.
This was my favorite TV comedy ever. I still devastated it was cancelled. But I can't wait for this DVD!
god I wish they could have done a few more seasons. fantastic show.
At least there are 53 episodes for us all to enjoy, and they did get to send the show off properly. They knew it was coming to an end, so they at least brought closure to the series. Most FOX shows don't get that pleasure. Cancelled way before it's time, but still given enough time to shine.
Oh, and they better have some great extras on this set. Season 2 was kind of a let down from season 1's set.
LOVE the art.
Showtime talked about picking this up.

Yeah, the show had some very funny episodes. Too bad they cut it off after three. Jason Bateman's totally great.
Definately picking this up, first two seasons are one of my favorite tv series I have. Hopefully its cheap its first week, the first two seasons can be picked up for around 20$ lately.
Great art. Great show.
now excuse me as I realize that it's really over and cry my eyes out.

Well, the show had terrible ratings, but FOX also did a horrible job marketing the show and kept moving its timeslot around. It ended up getting cancelled because FOX was worried that "Arrested Development" was hurting "Prison Break"'s ratings.
They were smart to keep it on as long as they did. Perhaps, had they dealt with the show smartly, "Arrested Development" would have grown into a huge hit, just like what happened with NBC and "Seinfeld".

I have to agree with Eraserhead's post, this show was brilliant.
The funniest show on network t.v. (probably the best American comedy since Seinfeld). Intelligent comedies (or intelligent shows of any kind) are in an uphill battle in a nation that still waits with baited breath for the next installment of American Idol. This will be a purchase for me on release day.

Ummm. . . I like the artwork - but they really should have gone with a black motif - the first two seasons both have a white, orange, and black theme - the first season had a white cover, the second orange, so the third should be. . .
Also, why is George Sr. in his prison outfit? He's not even in Prison in this season.

Steve Holt!
It is usually on at the 11pm time slot here in Australia....
Jason Bateman is my hero.

Mitchell Hurwitz did say that, although he will definitely not write another season, he's thinking about turning AD into a movie, which would be awesome!

"Mock Trail With J. Reinhold", "Bob Loblaw lobs law bomb"
Too many good quotes for this show!!

A definate pick-up for this. Shame its only 2 discs.
Here's hoping it has the collection of music like the Season 1 set, lot of great music created specifically for the series by the shows composer David Schwartz.
Fox did a horrible job of promoting the show. It didn't help that they kept moving the timeslots around either.
Presumably George Snr. is in his prison outfit because in the first episode, "The Cabin Show", George Snr. is believed to be in prison.
As I stated at "Arrested Develoblog", the thing about this artwork that makes me nervous is Michael's arm. That doesn't look right. I agree with a commenter that the artwork looks a little rushed.
There's too many good PR images floating around for them to go with this one -- especially the image on the internet with them looking at themselves in a museum portrait.

I place the blame exclusively on FOX's marketing department. But it really is a shame that this show (unlike most other cancelled shows) actually had a chance to continue, but the creator and head writer Hurwitz dropped out at the last minute. Hopefully he will come to his senses and there will be a later years spin-off of sorts. I don't think a movie version would do it for me. Unlike the upcoming movies of ' The Simpsons' and ' 24,' I don't think the material is appropriate for the film medium.
I never got into the show, I wish I had because I have seen some episodes that are hilarious.
