Arrow Films has announced the release of Ashanti for the 27th of April, priced at around £12.99. No bonus material is included. David (Michael Caine) is a UN doctor, working in African aid camps alongside his wife and colleague Anansa who is from the Ashanti tribe herself. While swimming in a lake near the aid camp, she is kidnapped by slave traders. They are sure they will get a high price for her from their best customer, wealthy Arab prince (Omar Sharif). David sets off to find her, helped along the way by Brian (Rex Harrison) a British anti-slave campaigner. They trace her across the African continent and into the Arab territories, facing danger every step of the way. Well, thank goodness someone is releasing a bad Michael Caine film from the 70's and charging £12.99 for it! I can finally trade in the FREE copy I got of this that time with the Daily Mail!
