May 4th marks the French region two release of Ashes of Time (aka Les Cendres du temps), a period drama by critically acclaimed filmmaker Wong Kar Wai. Sadly, we don’t have any further details but will update our article as soon as we hear more from TF1.

forgot to mention , movie is remastered and looks great .
still a little grainy , but nothing as horrendous as the Dvds already in circulation .

TF1 dvd is edited
scene in the beggining when malicious west / evil east fights in the desert is deleted .

epilouge when Jackie cheung leaves is deleted

the movie is around 8min shorter than the HK cut.

epilouge at the end of the movie is deleted
( movie ends with maggie cheung staring out of the window while leslie cheung narrarates about how to remember your memories.)

also only french subs / dd 2.0 *720x576* no extras ( chapter selection , link to tf1 video)

OMG this is awesome news. Come on America, the UK or Australia? This film is so needing of an upgrade.

Considering how DREADFUL the English subtitled versions are I'll probably pick this up regardless of subs and add my own.
