"The look and sound of perfect" lol that's pretty intense...
Almost looks like they've trademarked the word perfect.
Can't wait for The Interpreter! I might pick up Ray if it has a TrueHD soundtrack, otherwise I'll pass.
The Bone Collector. I`m surprised it`s getting an HD release this early, since it`s so mediocre.
Why are all these old movies on HD-DVD so expensive, at Best Buy most of them are $30 or $25 at the cheapest. What justifies the price raise in DVD's, I mean how expensive is it for the studios to release new transfers of movies that everyone has bought and seen multiple times. Sure the hardware is expensive, but that is justified, new hardware is always expensive. I just don't understand why are we paying $10 more than normal to have these transfers in which the difference in quality is barely noticeable.

Most of the movies released in HD or Blu-Ray have been medicore or just plain bad. I see no point in upgrading. There isn't a movie yet that has made me want to at least.

You are 100% wrong about the quality being BARELY NOTICABLE... if you have a decent tv the difference is 600% better, no artifacting, no macroblocking, no edge enhancment, clean whites, black blacks, crisp lines, perfect imaging... you are simply wrong. I will never go back now that I have seen what I have with HD DVD it is astounding!

I'm not sure about all these catalog titles. If I was doing this I would release new films first to get people hooked, rather than old films that people already own and might not want to double dip, since there is so much of that already. I really like "The Interpreter", that is a really well done film. "Ray" is overrated, great acting, but the film is mediocre. "Spy Game" I never saw, but it is Tony Scott, who I really admire, so that might be one to see and "The Bone Collector" is decent. Its a lot like "Taking Lives", which also stars Angelina Jolie.

It's certainly spectacular, but maybe if half the popualation in the world could afford HD-TV's, players and all the equipment needed to get that quality of video and performance, everyone would feel the same way you do. This is also a new format and there isn't enough out yet for me to warrant abandoning all my DVD's and not go back. HD-DVD does people no good without Hi-Def equipment, at least with DVD you can enjoy it anywhere you want to and still get fair quality.

Serenity has been the only release that has made me wish for a HDDVD player, but since the DVD version looks just fine for me, I'm waiting on this little format war to end before I plug into it.
This is the most pointless thing I've ever seen.
i hate those borders on the front... makes the cover look so tacky. how long till they lose it?
"King Kong" for starters... everyone forgot about Kong? no way!

Talk about 'All c**ppy movies'. Jeez.
How boring. I already think my DVDs are perfect. Why would I want to pay for bad packaging at a higher price?
LOL
Gotta love trash talk.
I ain't even gonna argue with ya guys. Your right every movie out there sucks & so does the HD DVD format & Blu-Ray + dvd. LOL

How much dope are you smoking? First of all, HD's catalogue far-surpasses Sony's Blu-Ray format by a landslide! More selection of old AND new, and some VERY good titles! "The Fugitive", "Jarhead", "Full Metal Jacket", "Blazing Saddles" (CLASSIC btw), "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" (which is visually stunning), "King Kong" , "Batman Begins", "Constintine", the list goes on-and-on. Whereas Blu-Ray.... let's see here, what's going to be the first title I could buy after dropping $1,000 on the player? Ladies and Gentlemen, "Hitch."

Oh, how soon we forget 9 years ago when DVD first hit the shelves and the majority of the titles released in the early months were films already available on VHS....

Menus added for Ray and The Interpreter. Bit dull aren't they
is it just me or has this been advertised already? YES WE F**KING GET IT..... RAY IS COMING TO HD... NOW F**K OFF!!!!!!
Why the dull static menus?
When they release something that was actually SHOT in HD-DV, I'll get excited - Collateral, Once Upon A Time in Mexico, Star Wars Episodes II or III. Whenever such movies are released on the HD-DVD or Blu-Ray format, I'm certain the quality will be even more astounding. But still, I haven't remotely the cash to buy this equipment.

Yeah, why the boring generic menus?
You thinks will all this fantastic new HD tecnology that yes, they could come up with some pretty damn flash looking menus to, huh?!
* Too add an appropriate quote:
"Unlimited technology from the whole universe, and we cruise 'round in a Ford P.O.S.?!" (Will Smith, Men In Black)

Haha, your right! Do you think that HD-DVD has a shot at topping DVD?
