I watched this film soooooooooooooooo many times and I still haven't gotten sick of it.
Just watched it with the family, we loved the movie! Starts out a bit slow, meanders lost for bit but when it finds it's rhythm it really hums along nicely with a great ending, albeit a quick and short ending, but nice.

See it. It's really, really good.
My video store only got in 1 copy of the Blu-ray on Thursday. 'M upset about it and the fact that I don't have a Blu-ray player.

I thought that this was the cutest movie ever made. Freddie Highmore is very charming and the whole thing was just awesome. It was a great, musical note. I don't believe why critics didn't like this. Critics probably just don't want you to see it. They don't make enough money for forcing people not to see really cool movies like this. I found August Rush to be really good and I planned not to listen to what critics said about this movie, because this movie was pure amazement. It was a cute movie. I'm definitely buying this on DVD.
From what good I've been hearing about this film I am definitely going to buy this on Blu-ray. Doesn't really bother me much on it having hardly any features as I really don't even bother watching the special features on DVDs unless theirs outtakes.

I heard the opposite, from audience to critics alike. Was it that great of a film?
I really did love it. And I'm not just exaggerating the word 'love' either like girls do when they say how much they love candy and ice cream and Matthew McCoughnahey. I saw it on the eve of Christmas eve at Edwards Long Beach 26 and honestly...I walked out emotionally charged. As I exited the auditorium where the movie was playing, I felt like...it sounds weird..but I felt like running outside, singing out loud the songs and the music that was in the movie, and running really fast and jumping and...I don't know how to explain what I felt after I watched this movie. I thought it was an amazingly beautiful film with an excellent cast. You should at least rent it, although I think what made the film more beautiful for me was how loud the music blared in the auditorium speakers. I really just loved it. I don't see how anyone can walk out and not feel positively affected and singing the music. I don't know if you'll think differently but this movie really just did it for me. Definitely rent it, man.
:]
Just in case you were wondering, the other top 4 (in no order yet...not officializing my top movies of 07 list until I watch NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN tomorrow night) are ONCE, JUNO, RATATOUILLE and DAN IN REAL LIFE. Odd choices, I know...I wasn't able to see some films I really wanted to see like INTO THE WILD and MICHAEL CLAYTON. People keep telling me to see SWEENEY TODD but it just doesn't look that great to me...

This movie is awful. I paid full price at the theater, and I wish I could get back that time and money. Such a waste of talent.
Good premise, bad writing.

A huge must-buy.
to bad the critics hated this movie i think if the critics loved this movie i think this movie could have been nominated for a few more oscars than just best score. wich brings me to the point can we stop having all the depressing movies geting oscar noms since return of the king there been all depressing movies. anyway done with my rant but great movie illl rent this again probaly when it comes out great movie
This movie was TREMENDOUS. Loving that artwork, too. Seriously...the quote on the front truly says it all "YOUR HEART WILL BE SINGING AND YOUR SPIRIT WILL SOAR". I left the auditorium ignited, excited and singing the music. One of the top 5 best movies of the year. Definitely buying it.
:]
and it better not only have one special feature...

interesting. and only one special feature? on ALL releases? Jeez. I'd have at least expected maybe a making of on even the blu-ray.
FINALLY YES! I loved this movie a whole lot. One of the best and embarrassing movies that I really love. It's also embarrassing for me to think that Freddie Highmore in that movie reminded me of somebody at my school whose on my bus twice by the end of the week.

Warners are contracted to them until May, after which they're Blu-Ray exclusive.

Chaos clearly hasnt seen the film with an unintelligent statement like that.
The movie really surprised me and ended up becoming one of my favorite of the entire year. I pushed everyone I knew to see this.

What exactly is your problem with that statement? "Open your heart and listen, you will believe too" this is in response to August stating "I believe in music the way some people believe in fairy tales". Makes sense to me.
Holy s**t, I read the back cover & am alarmed & how such a description justifies a film being made. Open your heart.... can you hear it? Christ.
