I doubt there'd be any way to tell so it's calling on a bit of faith (this is fox we're talking about) to blind buy on the assumption it's real.....

I guess you're in the same camp as me then Chris when it comes to 3D......

£89.99 for the Limited Edition on Play.com, either that's a mistake or fox are seriously taking the piss
It is limited to only 1000 and contains an actual signed cell by Cameron. I'm not interested in it myself but you only have to look at the autograph market to see it's not that far out there to be honest.
For example a quick search on an autograph site found a fairly boring picture of him holding a camera 10*8 selling for £90. It's a lucrative business :D
Yeah that'd push the price up but is it actually signed or is it a printed reproduction?

I'm sure 'they' will be busy beavering away, retro-fitting LOTR for 3D as we speak. The only question is, will they rush them to come out before the Hobbit, or go head to head with Star Wars?
Speaking of which, is anyone really all that fussed about waiting until 2015/16 for SW & ESB? The one advantage to 'them' taking so long converting them is that at least the conversion technology will have improved. They should just make an extended trailer of all 6 films showing the bits that best lend themselves to 3D.
The Pod Race.
The chese through Coruscant
The "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
The opening shot from SW. (You can tell how old I am as I still refer to SW as SW). The Death Star battle.
The Asteroid Chase
The Princess Leia's metal biki...The speeder bike chase. The er, Death Star battle again.
I wonder what Mr Lucas's neck would look like in 3D?

Cool. I've got 2 books personally signed by JC. I think I'll hang onto them for a while longer though.
£90 is a lot but added to the film cell, (an odd choice to include as it was shot digitally-moving on) there's the making of book which is around £25.
Mmm. I don't know about this one. I'm after the book and the BD. Not much of a film tat collector. Should be able to pick up BD & Book for about £40 if I shop around. Yes. That's definately the way to go.
And I couldn't give a tinker's about 3D.
Although I never got to see it, Phihrhanha 3D (I never know where to put the 'h' so I'm covering all bases) seemd to be the apex of what can be reasonably achieved with 3D, post Avatar. Followed by Tron Legacy possibly.

How about the inevitable 3D BLU-RAY version? Somehow I think that will be the set to go for providing you have the tech.

Well, the features & bonus content sounds plenty and very in-depth. I can hardly imagine if there will be any future double-dip that's better than this.
The first of about 9 re-releases for this one.
